But wait! Dead mafia members still win if their team wins.

Sometimes, to kill a suicide bomber, you have to think like a suicide bomber. By committing suicide.
That's a very good point.  Com'on guys ... take one for the team!
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

That there is a 25 percent chance checker.  Change the 25 to check other percentages.

That's what I'm using to figure things out.

the success rate does seem a little high. I'd use random.org to get an integer from 1-100, with any number from 1-25 being success.

seems like:
a pseudorandom generator, which gives us X, and 0<=X<=100
the chance of success is Y
and you fail if Y<X

interesting method, but would've been better if we had known our chances

I seeds with the PHP default, which I believe is either current time, or current time millis.  Either way, I'm not refreshing it fast enough that the seed would matter...

So Im confused, are you using the twenty five percent for everything, or do you change the percentages around depending on the person's role?

I am using several different numbers.  25% may not even be used.  It was just an example to show you how to work the script.

"Goldeen Goldeen"

Hi everybody! I knew if I tried hard enough, I'd end up here! ^_^
At least I went out in a blaze of glory, stoicly pulling hoppip with me unto that great abyss, plunging headlong with that evil one, thinking, even though I die, others may live, and OH WAIT NEVER MIND.

I think I had most things figured out by the end, but it doesn't do much good when the townies can't rely on the only weapon at their disposal (voting) to get rid of the bad'uns, and in fact their only weapon actually hurts THEM more than anyone else.

EDIT: I do dig the mangled avatar, though
And I agree, Ceric - nice one. Looking forward to seeing my noble fall immortalized in lead and paper, er red green and blue pixels.

Well maybe if the townies were intelligent and voted for Mafia that wont kill them. Like you know vudu and all the others I've been screaming at since Day 2.

Well, the voting COULD'VE been an effective weapon for the townies, if we'd had the luck. But 7 times out of 8 we didn't None of us believed that it was anything more than a fluke that you kept surviving. Besides, what would that mean at the end? We eliminate the rest of the other mafias, then leave you to pick us off? It would've been delaying the inevitable. At least if we voted for you while there were other mafias around, the chances for a non-townie to do the deed would've been higher.

Nope, we were already screwed.

If the townies chose to vote off the people protecting me, who knows what coudl be happening? Gosh I even SUGGESTED that. notice that? The reason I keep surviving is because more than one person is protecting me.

I don't think so, 18 Days. From what I understand, you can be protected from a hit, but you can't be protected from a vote-off. It's just bad luck for the townies.

This game was so broken it's not even funny.  Secret roles is one thing.  Probability is one thing.  Both of them in the same game is too much though.
