that was my opinion too. i didnt bother picking up Wasteland becuase THUG2 was so mediocre. i dont know if its because i've been playing since THPS1 and have been able to "master" every game since that the challenges just arent hard, or because the challenges are just so damn repetitive.
downhill jam in THPS1 was a cool level, if i recall it was the only one where you race down hill to accomplish you goals. wiat no there was the mall, but it wasnt as face paced. in the mall you could easily go back and get something you've missed, but those hills in downhill jam made it difficult to retrace your steps. now it seems they are going for a competitive downhill race. i could see this as a good single player if its you and multiple boarders going downhill and getting in eachothers way. online multiplayer would be fun too, but split screen in tony hawk never works. those words are too big for only two boarders, online multiplayer would be awesome for it. the THUG games on GCN didnt have multiplayer and i didnt have a ps2 to try it out so im not sure how it worked out. on the same not, never went online with my DS so i cant take Sk8teland for a spin either.
one of the levels shown on the ign interview (via concept art) shows a sanfransisco type level. i assume its that city because it is known for its hills. haveing even just four players on a narrow street racing downhill trying to reach grinds would be very competitive and i like that. my interest for this game has grown, though i still wish the controls would be different; ie. they would use motion controls for more than steering.
i think turning the wiimote into a virtual skateboard and simply moving with the analoge stick would be very intuitive.
