It's cuz you have a crappy avatar.  I would have killed you anyway.

I want to know why the hell the vigilante chose to kill me on day one?  There's no way he could have known I wasn't a townie.  Lucky guess.

You have no idea how dissapointed I am that you died. Your kills were going to be horribly f%$ked up.

Oh well.

You couldn't have just told the vigilante that I was Iwamatsu?  A white lie never hurt anyone.

EDIT: What do you mean Wandering's the dang host? I can't kill him? Arg ...

UNVOTE KNOWSNOTHING for killing me last game. That'll teach him.

EDIT #2: What do you mean KnowsNothing isn't playing this round? How the heck am I supposed to exact my revenge?

Fine, um ... UNVOTE UNCLEBOB for making this thread and then throwing our suggestions in our faces by using a blank avatar. No one would be such a jerk unless he didn't care because he was a vampire.

EDIT #3: Alright, I should probably just admit I haven't the fainest idea what I'm doing. I'll refrain from voting until more people start to post.

Apparently you don't have a very good memory.  I do this every game.

Mafia: Day One
MAFIA II: Day One
Mafia III: Day One

I was the first person to vote every game.  It's a running gag, get it?  Besides, by mid-afternoon I had unvoted for everyone and I chose to abstain from voting that day.  If I was really trying to get someone killed I would have erased my unvotes rather than show them as edits.

I figured anyone who had been paying attention would obviously know it was a joke.  Guess not.  So here's a hint for the mafia:  Who's dumb enough to not know I was joking?  There's your Vigilante.

Yes, you can meddle, but you shouldn't.  As I complained in Mafia II, it makes you pretty much an invincible townie.  The mafia can't kill you to shut you up, so you're free to share your wisdom with the less-knowledgeable townies.

If the mafia's smart they'll always go after the most experience players.  If you were playing you'd most likely die within the first day or two (like what happened last game).  As you're more-than-likely aware, it's nothing person--it's to shut you up.  You're a liability to them--you're too good at reading between the lines and figuring out who's mafia.

It's more fun for those who are playing the game to figure out who's who on their own.  If you tell them you think ShyGuy's mafia they'll take your advise for what it is.  But if a fellow townie says the same thing to someone, they have to take a step back and consider if the person sharing information is mafia and what he has to gain/lose either way.

I know you're smart enough to know all this; I'm pretty much posting it for the sake of others so they read it and maybe keep their big traps shut until the game's over.

I'm actually keeping a mafia journal in a Word document on my desktop that I plan on posting after the game's over.  It's basically a list of running posts that I would have posted had I still been alive (responses to other posts, theories as to who's mafia, etc.).  It's cool and you should all look forward to reading it.

But it doesn't make any difference considering people who actually died in the game are allowed to give advice to the living...

I think the entire basis behind killing the more experienced players first is flawed, considering it doesn't teach the players to play smart...Rather, it would give them the ability to play even more sloppy...If you are Mafia, and you do a fantastic job of keeping your role a secret, it won't matter if there's outside influence if noone can figure out who you are...I'm not a psychic...I don't have the answers in my hand, and thus, my advice is merely that...Advice...It's completely up to whoever asks for it to decide if it's helpful or not...

Correct.  But when you offer advice the recipient doesn't need to consider the fact that you may have ulterior motives (i.e. you're mafia).  For the most part they can take your advice at face value--an honest guessed based on public information with little chance of deceit.  However, that’s still better than the advice you get from most of the players (unless you’re the cop and know for a fact that someone is a townie).

Also, people who died in the game aren't supposed to give advice to the living.  It's not fair.  If we could, there would be little point for the mafia to kill one townie over another.  Their ultimate choice is dependent upon (a) who they think has a special role (cop, vigilante, other mafia) and (b) who they want to shut up.

Point being, shut your pie hole.

I've got an idea to stop he dead-talking-to-the-living thing. Why not make a forum on PCG dedicated to these Mafia games? Lock it off to everyone else and make a dozen or so accounts with access to only that forum for players to use. The accounts could be given at random, so you'd never know who's really who, so Bill could blend in.

Well if that is directed towards me in regards to my spelling errors then to you I say you are wrong, as I have explained this a thousand times before.

I am a hell of a lot smarter than that my friend if I was trying to keep my identity secret I sure as hell would put in a little more effort and type a little slower, no matter how much it hurts.

But its all fine cuz its fun to pick on the person who is different and internet nerds always nitpick spelling and grammer errors as if doing so proives their own superiority.

Anyways if you have ever payed attention to ALL my posts you most certainly would notice that when I feel the need I can and DO express myself in proper grammer and spelling because of all the BS I hear from the losers on here who can't accept that this is a discussion forum where people are simulating actual conversations in which they do not always use proper spelling (duh cuz when you're talking you don't spell out words)

My observation is that I died early on the first mafia game I played because I wasn't entirely sure what was going on and I inadvertantly linked my fellow mafia memebers to myself. This was done, at first, on accident as I was pulling names out at random, then once I started getting PMs from these guys I decided to go ahead and call them out anyways.

Second Mafia I played I was a townie and lasted near the end, mostly because I played it cool and I know people didnt want to make it look like vendetta kills because we had some discussions abotu those, of which vudu brought up a lot.

I knew this game i was not only getting a twonie role but also would be killed early because three of the mods have expressed dislike towrds me and wandering being in charge was not going to give me a decent role. (not that I honestly suspect he doesn't like me just I think he remebers that first game. He seamed rather angry with me in those Pm's he sent.

Now that is all that I have to add to this particular discussion so carry on with your insults and speculations.

The roles were literally drawn out of a hat. ....Well, okay, a tabletop. But you know what I mean.

As far as me being annoyed the first game, I probably was, sorry. You WERE endangering the team just a tad, though. IN any case, past games did not in any way affect anyone's role assignments.
