Buying used Gamecube, package worth it?
« on: January 18, 2006, 06:19:13 PM »
A friend of my coworker is selling his Gamecube for $130. He says its in pristine condition.

It includes:
Platinum Gamecube
(1) Platinum controller
Resident Evil 4 Collectors Edition
Resident Evil 1
Metroid Prime 1
Metroid Prime 2
Zelda Wind Waker
Zelda Promo Disc (i think its the old games?)
Star Wars Rouge Squadron

Do you think its worth getting for $130? Ive had all the other NIntendo consoles, but the last system I had was a Dreamcast I bought used 2.5yrs ago.

You're the guy who wanted to buy it from eBay right? Well, if I were you, I would ask your friend if you could have a look at it, and run it to make sure it's working fine. $130 is a pretty good deal for it, with all those games. You could probably get a better deal on eBay, but it's less reliable;  at least this way you know exactly what you're getting and you don't need to use your credit card online etc.

Also, is that Rogue Squadron II or III? Not that you shouldn't buy the GameCube if it's III, but it's a worse game..

Gold mine. Definitely try it out and check each game for scratches.

No memory card?  IT's an alright dealio.  But considering you can get a Mario Party 7 bundle for $99 with two controllers it's not a super deal or anything.

YOu could sell Mario Party 7 on ebay for probably $40.

That would make the GAmecube you bought $60 with 2 controllers.  Then for around $70 you could acquire all those games you mentioned off Ebay except maybe the Zelda promo disc.   So I don't know.  NOw if there is a memory card in there somewhere it would be a better dealio.

It's fine; not worth the hassle - get it as soon as you can so you can start playing

I've seen a memory card 1019 for $25 CDN and a 251 for $15 CDN, so I'm sure that for $10 - 15 US you can get a decent one (251 is adequate)..
