Square, Camelot, Namco, Pokemon (hopefully a good one with online)..

So don't worry, the Revolution caters to that genre extremely well. Also pure Adventure games; boy those have the potential to be brilliant on the Rev.

I wasn't talking to you.. I was just commenting on the RPG potential of the Revolution. But, after reading your post, how on earth can you say that the Rev isn't good for adventure games? It's practically made for them. I mean, the controller will be much better than even the mouse for adventure games - puzzles, exploring, items.. wow, I can just imagine.

I'm not sure animecyberrat is complaining that the system will be bad for certain genres so much as he's complaining certain genres haven't been talked about much yet

Which, in my opinion, is kind of a silly thing to complain about....yeah, if the rev is lacking in certain genres that would suck, but since we don't know that yet, and since next to no games have been formally announced (except for a few obviousd continuations of big franchises we knew were coming anyway), there ain't nothing to complain about yet.

I didnt mean those kinds of 'adventure' games I meant like Zelda type games. There arent many of those anyways but thats what i was talking about. sorry if I confused you. I am not really bigon RPGs either so I guess I should have re-read your post too. But no I mean theres so many types of games the GC was lacking and I just hope the Rev does a better job of filling in the gaps. I guess its hard for me to describe what i mean because over the years different genres sprang up and the meanings started to change. I am always looking for games that play like the games I grew up with and similar to games I already enjoy.

I like to try new stuff also but I am used to playing certain types of games and I always look forawrd to getting games like that and there just deosnt seam to be manyof the kinds of game I like anymore. Its not just Gc its ever system but it seams like a lot of the games I wanted to try out didnt make it to GC and arent likely to make it to rev unless things start going differently. I see how things are looking up on teh surface but when I look deeper than that I see that it isnt so promising.

Maybe its not the games maybe its me, maybe I am getting older and not as into video games as I used to be. I have always been a person to play games in a series because I like to go with what i am familiar with. I like to play Mega Man and Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat and Castlevania games because they have always been around and will always have some familiaraity to them.

The biggest thing about Rev that DOES interest me and givces me plenty of reasons to not worry about the new games IS the Virtual Console, I actualy plan on spending more time playing the old games than the new games, considering I spend more time playing my SNES and NES now more than my GC anyways. Its like the new games never live up to the old games so I always go back.

Thats why i hated mario Sunshine, it wasnt anything liek previous mario games and ai felt betrayed playing it, it was like Nintendo hada this game that may have been fun to play I ddint try it for very long, but since it didnt have ANYTHING at all related to Mario I just couldnt get into it, all the familiar sights I was used to seeing in Mario games were missing and it felt wierd.

I dont think I will go back and replay Super mario Bros anytime soon on the rev since I just got it for GBA a couple months ago and spend a lot of time playing it there, but IU do ecpect to goback and play a lot of those child hood favorites that are hard to track down that I have been missing. My NES selection is so pitiful right now it sucks because NES games are hard to come by, unless your willing to eff around with ebay which I am not.  I always ramble on like this when I talk abot video games because vidoe games for me isnt just sit down and play a game to have fun, its a way to escape form the real world once in a while AND to go back and rspark nastalgic feelings and rememeber thinsg form my past.

See I am a person who moved aroudn a lot as a kid, way too much to be honest, and nothing ever stayed the same for very long, my life is always filled with instability, so I always go back to teh 1 thing that never changes, and that is video games. Now they are changing the way games are played and it worries me to death. I dont want to play a video game that deosnt even feel liek avideo game because it defeats the purpose of playing video games.

If i was still a child and I just played cuz they are fun and what not it would be different but I have other things to do so I dont get much time to play games so when i do I want the experience to be worth something to me. Game Cube has offered a hand full of GREAT experiences that have managed to satisfy me to apoint, yet it was been lacking in so many areas I am familiar with its like i sometimes wish i had bought PS2 and got all those games, but then I would be mising out on teh good Nintendo games.

So its a catch 22 for me, except I have hatred for Sony and just distrust of Microsoft so I stick to Nintendo who I do lose faith in but am Always surprised at how they keep making great games.

I dont mean to go off forever like that its just I some times wonder why I even play video games in the first place and I am startiung to have second thoughts about the Rev anyways, maybe i want to spend my time doing more important things, yest I still want to geta  rev because i want to have access to the classics. Anyways I will wait and see what happens and if the games are interesting enough to intice me then who knows I might enjoy the thing, but for now all I care about for Revb IS the VC and maybe Mario 128 if they dont scew it up. I will not enjoy it if there are not Goombas and Koopas and Mushrooms and Bricks yu bash with oru head and Gold COins and a Gaol at teh end of each level and all the other things that make Mario games Mario games, and I hope for the return of Luigi and maybe tehy will realize that they can do a 3d 2 player game liek the old one you knwo TUREN BASED. Anyways its struff liek that um but thats all I have to say on this topic now I propabaly said to much already.

as far  as Zelda  goes, try  prince  of  persia. ?It is very  zelda like except theres  no  shop  and  no big  overworld.  If i t had  that  boy would  it be the best. I think ubisoft needs  to  focus  on a  new  ip  for a  bit before they  kill the prince of  persia one  with too many  iterations. As  far  as Sega goes.  I want shenmue,  i want  it on  revolution, and i   dont want it to be an  mmorpg.  I want to  fight lan di  and then  tell him he's not even worth it.

yeah I got Prince of Persia on my Sega CD and Warrior Within on GC, I like those games so far. I didnt liek original at first cuz controlers sucked but after a while I got really into, to bad my Sega Cd doesnt have any more save data room so i cant save unless I erase something or track down one of those hard to find memory carts.

See Thast why I am glad that 3rd party supports was better this gen than last cuz it brought moany more good games to GC than just Nintendos hit and miss stuff, but I still missed out on so many games mostly due to Midways adandoning the Cube and they make a lot of games I like.

Speakinjg of which Midway stated on thier website or maybe itw as an email whatever i forget but they said tehy are not going to support teh DS and have no plans to support Rev, anybody else distrubed by this or do you think they will change thier minds?

I wanted to comment on this and forgot, I wont get into details but theres to obsitcles right there, first off its not my kind of fighting game, second I dont import games ever. But I am hoping got Mortal Kombat and Street FIghter and Tekken type fighitng games, and eventualy something DBZ related. I expect Atari to get some DBZ games for DS eventualy

They already have a DS DBZ game, if you're into the series..

You want Zelda type games on Revolution? Guess what, you have The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ALL playable on Rev! And maybe.... juuuuuust maybe, Nintendo might release a special Zelda for Revolution too! Stop complaining, it's baseless, Nintendo haven't shown ANY revolution games so you can't say what they're missing.

I know what you mean perm, there's tons of great GC and DS games that i'll never play, and it makes me a little sad to think about, and Rev is gonna be even worse.

The tie ratio for GC is around 10. I have around 50 myself.

I'm pretty sure I have just under twenty Gamecube games.  About eight GBA and about eight DS.

I guess I can blame my DVD collection.

I have roughly around 20 GCN game but I lost one of my favorites, PSO.  Though there are many more I like to play but I'm finding that they aren't released in the states (Homebound), only had a limited quantity run (Cubivore), I didn't know they existed, or I just plain can't find.  I go to the store and what do I see?  Not the newish games I'm looking for but the same old junk I don't care about and a couple of the launch titles.  That what really killed the GCN.  I have this problem even at dedicated gameshops.  But on the flipside I can no longer Monster Rancher 4 either.  I think it must be a conspiracy to take the games I want to play off the market before I can buy them.

Sounds like my household and Game Boys.

I got a Super Game Boy just to play Link's Awakening (non-DX), a Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color when the Pokémon phenomenon started, followed up by a GBA and GBA SP when the later Pokémon games came out, and then a DS.  I never had an original Game Boy (unless you count the Game Boy Pocket, but by that time the GBC was already out).

I already have about as many DS games as all my GB/GBC/GBA games - and there's many DS games I meant to pick up but haven't.

I counted up all my games today for all my systems and I have 5 more Nintendo games than Sega games (thast ranging from NES- GC and from Genesis to DC) so I am going to the used game store today to remedy that situation. Also after much debate I am considering picking up some GC games I have held off on, maybe F-Zero and Maybe Eternal Drakness but I havent decided.

I do want to get those Lord of the Rings games I keep passing on and I am still looking for wind waker to go back down to 10 dollars, it went back up to 20 due to demand or something (or maybe the game store is building hype for TP who knows.)

oh and I need to get some DC games and body knwo some good ones I might have missed. Our DC selection is rather small right now, we have Sonic adventure, Evolution, Shenmue and Street FIghter Alpha 3, I am still debating about KISS SPycho circus and one knwo if its good. Also is the 1st soul caliber good? I have SC2 on GC but never played original.

Also besides WW and Star Foz Adventures are there any other good action adventure games I shoudl look for? I have Prince of persia WW but I want to play Sands of time before I get to it so maybe I will look for that.

OK last question and this one needs answer please, did Ubisoft release the current Prince game Two Throwns for GC, cuz I seen it at walmart for PS2 and Xbox but no Cube. Did it sell out or was it shafted. Oh and I just got Gun a few days ago and so far have mixed feelings but its cool cuz my parents love weterns so its one more game they like to play.

I'm in SOCAL Nosferat2...and you're absolutely right...nobody works in California...and I've got 60+ despite the fact that I've turned GCN games in that were supposed to be good, but sucked (e.g., GUN).  What is the ratio?

1) Buy F-Zero & Eternal Darkness both

2) Buy the original Soul Calibur - this you have to

3) Two Thrones is on GCN

Yea i have had more but traded a couple or so booty games. Final Fantasy CC and Baldurs gate got turned in as soon as finshed them. Didnt want those piles of garbage trying to pass as RPGs in my collection.

Now that i think of it i have more than 57 cause i bought two copies of games were i wanted one in my collection unmolested. you know, never know when a sealed copy of Eternal Darkness or Beyond good and evil will sell for a couple hundred dollars...

What is the ratio?

Are you asking what it means or what is it actually?

Well someone posted that it was about 10 to 1.(thanks to who that was, sorry forgot your name). The ratio itself is the number of games bought per console sold.
