What an, uh, attractive controller.

Let's see if Nintendo does something to protect their "intellectual property rights for the product" as Perrin said.
"wow."

But Sony didn't make that horrid monster of a controller.
However, they should've let someone else rip-off the Revmote for them because it makes them look bad. worse, whatever!

i dont really understand the point myself. games coming out for the revolution will be made from the ground up for the controller while it seems like players will have to alter existing control schemes to use this one on the ps2. i dont see any exclusive games coming out to cater to the controller.

and as already mentioned, it is far and away one of the ugliest controllers i have ever seen. i actually saw a reporter on cnn talking with the makers of this thing, and i wasnt impressed at all. the same company makes some sort of 3d glesses that will supposedly make existing ps2 games into 3d. they were ugly as well, and even the reporters were making fun of how stupid they looked wearing the things.

its only an attempt by Sony to nullify any hype the Rev has going for it. Now they can say anyone can have such a controller so no need to get a Rev. I think alot of people will fall for it. Or it could be a company trying to turn a profit on a good idea. If i had to guess i think its both, 75% Sony trying to nullify and 25% the contoller company trying to capitalize. Conspiracy no doubt.. SEnd second wave of those Cyborgs!

seems like they released this too quickly, unless they had the idea before the rev controler unvieling, might be faulty harware

That's I daresay the lamest attempt at a copycat controller I've ever seen. The CNET article says the thing doesn't even work very well in the hands-on tests. If that's the best they can do... and frankly I think it's not even the best I could do in a weekend with a soldering iron and a radio shack within walking distance... Nintendo's got nothing to worry about.

Well the gamespot article said it didn't work very well. But it is a third party controller so it is to be expected. It is a slightly good sign though it means that someone out there thinks it is a good enough idea to rip it off.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

More or less, I hope we don't see sony trying to make a 1st party ver. it would seem a blatant rippoff the REv's controller, and I hope that everyone points out, that ONCE again sony's stealing ideas that weren't their's to begin with.

Noway will I want to hear sony innovating, when they can't come up with anything original... Damn you Ken Kurtagi!! *shakes fist*

Not to this controller, no. But if Sony decides to follow suit, well....

That is one awful design.  Until Sony decides to support the controller itself, this doesn't matter.
For that matter, this particular design takes what many hardcore would consider the "best" parts of the controller, but it totally ignores the simplifcation aspect that Nintendo is going for.  Nintendo's plan is to capture the non-gamer market, but you're not going to do that with such a complicated tlooking doohickey.
That's my opinion, not yours.

This is pretty off-topic but has anyone seen the pictures of the PS3 controller in someone's hand?  It's ridiculously small.
