cant get a signal on router
« on: December 06, 2005, 03:12:44 PM »
I am having a problem with wi-fi, My DS will detect the signal, but when it tries to test it, it gets no signal.  I know it is not the DS because it worked off of a router at home, but I cant get it to work off of the one in my dorm.  My roommate said it is a Westell which is on the compatibility list, and it said to set rates for both 5.5 and 11 to yes, which we did, but it still wont work.  Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Thanks

Install latest firmware? That's what I had to do for an Actiontec

I think I found the problem, but Im not sure, there is something wrong with the signal, My internet lately has been slowing down immensly, and I thought it was my computer at first, because roomates werent having problems.  Then I realized that I was the only one using the wireless because my roomie's computer dont have a wireless card.  So I borrowed stole the cord from one of my roomates computers, he left for the weekend anyway.  So now my internet runs at a good speed, with the cord, and the problem is somehow with the wireless signal.  Now all I have to do is b!tch at my friend with the router to get it to work again.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway ShyGuy
