I'm thinking DK Mountain didn't make the cut because it's pretty graphics-intensive.  If I recall the whole course opens up below you as you go down the mountain, that requires quite a bit of power  But I agree that it's one of the best tracks in the game.  I also love Yoshi Circuit.  Yoshi's Mountain (or whatever it was called in MK64) was good too, but had the capacity to be extremely frustrating.  In a multiplayer game it was quite unfair, whoever owne4d the game was certain to win while others fell to their doom 30 times.
That's my opinion, not yours.

I really think spoiled milk is not very good, personally I prefer regular milk, honestly I can't see why anyone would want spoiled milk at all, but I can't really speak for everyone.  Nintendo could have also included free porn into Mario Kart DS, but I don't think that would appeal to everyone.  Overall I think they made a bad choice not to include giant spiders in Mario Kart DS, but I really like that they put graphics in there, because a Mario Kart game that only has text-based racing would be pretty boring.

BUMP!

Everyone's talking abuot htis game except us!

I've got a question about the friends list in this game, I read on IGN that you could only play with 4 players, no 2 or 3 player matches. What about when you only have 1 friend online on your list, do both of you enter a 2 player game or does it throw in two other random people from anywhere in the world?

I believe it grabs two random people.

Can you keep the same user name for every game? Nile Boogie wants to be Nile Boogie always.

So your stats are locked to a profile but that profile is not locked to a username. So if I'm on the leader board under "Nile Boogie" if I change my username to " T'RaeQuiLin"  does the leader board change to reflect the new name or what?

1up reviewed it and called it "the best kart racer ever", it's funny because it seems like the reviewer was trying to be negative but he just couldn't, the game is THAT good!

I've not heard a bad thing about the game itself yet. It seems to be a real knock-out home run effort.

Um...IGN gave Double Dash a 7.9. They haven't reviewed DS yet as far as their website says...unless it's in Insider? I can't see them giving it a 7.9. Craig gave Super Circuit a 9.5 and his impressions of this have all been glowing. Got a link for that?

Check out IGN's pros and cons article.  Some of those cons are pretty stupid stuff that is just outright sh!tty game design.  I'm a programmer and if I suggested something like random player assignment for multiplayer matches my boss would chew me out for suggesting something so horrible.  Of course that doesn't affect how the game plays, it's just some annoying limitations regarding online play.  This still sounds like an absolute must-buy.  Let's just hope they address some of the online issues for Mario Kart Rev.

I will not succumb to the conspiracy theory...

IGN used MKDS as a sacrificial lamb to prove that they wouldn't rate online games by GameSpy higher, and there isn't a conflict of interest

But this is from Craig's mailbag - Get Mario Kart DS because it's the best freakin' kart racer ever, with an incredible focus on single player and local multiplayer. Don't get it solely for its online component because you'll end up wanting way more than what's offered here.

And that's just how it should be; a game should not be penalized for its online mode when the gameplay is terrific. So I seriously doubt that it will be a 7.9...

Yeah, IGN didn't review Mario Kart DS yet. I have no doubt it'll get a glowing review. I wasn't being serious.

It's a portable game. People are holding console and PC standards to a system with very basic hardware. It's the first online title ever for the company, first for the system, first major portable title online, etc. Some of the cons are a little lame, but they're not going to change the fact that you can play it online. Of COURSE they'll "fix" these things for MK Rev. It's a console!

If you're going to be all doomsday, at least be realistic.

The REAL review. 9.5! That's pretty good seeing as it is coming from IGN.

Another 5 hours here, or 2 hours on the East Coast... assuming one could find a store that sells a copy at midnight on opening day.

*gasp* I thought that was a local problem, as rarely have games ever actually arrived on their ship date here (Advance Wars DS, for example, came 2 days after the set date)... three Target employees nearly lost their lives when SSB:M first came out on account of the delay.

I ordered mine at Amazon so I won't have it until the end of the month. But I have a ton of work the next two weeks so it's probably for the best.
