WHOA Sony has struck Nintendo by surprise! They thought nothing could topple them, this is a great example of how arrogance leads to downfall! Nintendo probably have nothing to combat this PSP onslaught now, I sense a turnaround.

They just need to release a major game on the 11th and have lots of systems ready and they'll make PS3 look like nothing.

When the sales are posted for the PS3 launch, I think I'll use that for a new sig lol. The new playatation will be 4th from last place in Japan, ouch. Nintendo will get a nice little head start until Sony can start to produce an acceptable amount of PS3s. My guess is they won't be able to for awhile, much like the 360.

The key to that is how long a "while" is. I still say that's what hurt Microsoft most, not the launch scarcity, or the paucity of solid titles, or even the rampant stories of hardware failures. Everybody was scrambling for 360's until about a month before the supply got up to a reasonable amount, and at that point it seems like a lot of people who didn't get them just started forgetting about it.

Another 1,093 faulty Xbox360's enter the Japanese market. I'll give Microsoft the benefit of the doubt,  1 of the 1,094 sold should work

The only reason I havent got a 360 is because of the failure rate, not that I forgot about it due to shortages initially.

I've heard they were coming out with a second revision in early-mid 2007 that's got a lower power consumption version of the CPU, that oughta reduce heat and by extension failure rate.

Anyone notice how well Rhythm Tengoku is doing?  I think it's spreading in popularity (wasn't it out of the top 10 already once?).

I think it's partially due to all-around low sales that Rhythm Tengoku is back in the top 10, but yes, it does have pretty good longevity!

Rhythm Tengoku is being marketed almost as a DS game.  On the box it says "Play this on DS" or something to that effect.  That might have something to do with it

Some Playstation comeback this week!  It's actually kind of exciting.  Apparently the PS2 sales are partially due to a price drop.

Hey Couchmonkey, not to pry or anything... but... you're getting a PS3 at launch, so I wonder, do you own a PSP? And what do you think of it?
