new Atari system, sort of

It's good to have a chance to own such games, including the arcade ports as well.  I love how the new system is basically exactly like my 7800, even the controllers, and yay there's 2 of them...  could they possibly work on my 7800, I doubt it but hehe oh well hehe.  Anyways this is a good direction for those plug n play game releases, it's a step forward from the ones out now that feature 5 games, require batteries, and only have 1 controller.  Hopefully, more advancements will happen in the coming years.  Linky

I like this quote: "Designed by Howard Scott Warshaw (Yars' Revenge, E.T.)"

As if E.T. is something worth mentioning.  To me the system seems like a waste of time because most of those games are ports of arcade titles.  Why would I want inaccurate 2600 and 7800 ports when arcade perfect games are readily available?  It's like how Nintendo re-releases the NES version of Donkey Kong instead of the superior arcade version.  Sure the ports have nostalgia value but if you would rather play the 2600 version of Battlezone odds are you have an Atari 2600 and don't need this plug-and-play system.

I'm more interested in the Anthology, or at least I would be if it was for the f*cking Cube!  Why can't third parties at least give us f*cking retro collections?!  There's no reason for a collection that any hack company can string together in a week to not be released on all three systems.  Even the Dreamcast, which was a much more risky system for third parties than the Cube, would normally get stuff like this.
