Topic: Playstation 3 sonner then later?

it seems as though they will be showing off playstation 3 pretty soon.  Which means Nintendo should reinstate spaceworld. Nintendo in this generation really needs to launch close to its competitors. Not to soon, i really doubt
nintendo likes the idea of having a short generation. However, if microsoft is doing it and Sony is doing it then Nintendo
prolly will have to do it.

End of 2004 is a lot sooner than anything I've heard.  E3 2005 was assumed to be the debut date.  If this is true I think Sony might be worried about the likely possibility of launching last.

Nintendo stated at the previous E3 that their 'Revolution' would be ready to release at the same time as the other contenders. Doesn't necessarily meant we'll be getting a peek at it anytime pre E3 2K5 though...

Nintendo Europe has recently announced that they are still planning to release ahead of the competition, though they admitted that they have no idea when that will be.

Sony released a statement implying that the PS3 will be at E3 05, then one day later this comes along. PS3 developement kits are still not due to ship until the start of 2005, though. I'm guessing they'll just be throwing a few tech demos around later on this year.

Sony's taking their time. Their date was pretty late, IIRC. So far they said they'll havea playable prototype of the PS3 by E3 2005.

Also, Gamesindustry.biz is retarded. They clearly cannot read the slide that Sony was showing. If you take a look at it, it marks the unveiling of the PS3 at the end of FY2004. That's FISCAR YEAR, not calander year. This would place it some time around March 2005, not December 2004. It's amazing how retarded people can be sometimes.

I'll take this with a grain of salt.  I think Sony may try to move the PS3 up a bit to prevent Microsoft from getting much of a lead, but I'll be very surprised if PS3 is launched in 2005.  I don't think it matters when Sony launches as long as the PS3 is available within a year of the Xbox.

The then/than thing can only be explained by the horridness of the english language..clearly their homophones...think of the difference between the word graduate and graduate..pretty horrible...oh well hehe...
