It was really 9 years ago?  That long?  Damn, I really have been playing videogames since I was knee high to a grasshopper.  I remember going to the store, my brother and I both getting the different versions..........i remember before that, too.  In fact, CBB was the first to mention that there were two different versions.......no body believed him. =p  I don't know how he found out though, considering that he was only six at the time, a year older than me....

Gosh, I remmber first playing that game on my now-busticated gold limited edition GBP.  I played that version over and over again, it's so fun! ^_^  I don't even know if I still have my copy, though........

haha sorry, just remebering some old memories. ^_^ (of course, maybe we were completely behind the times I just found out about pokemon long after it was released and I was like 7 or something, but still......)

EDIT:  heh, i guess it must've been later, since I was playing on a game boy pocket and all.  When did that release?  i think i got it for christmas the same year with my beloved galaga/galaxian cartridge.

Just reading about the remakes is making me want to play the originals again.  And transferring a nice Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander over to Sapphire just makes me happy.

Yeah, Leaf Green is good for reminiscing, but the fact that it's solely used for that purpose is pretty low.  I'm trying not to say that it's like watching Casablanca in colour, with a new ending and different actors.  Well, I suppose it isn't.

Wow, I hadnt realized that it was THAT long ago. It really has been a long time. Just for some strange reason, 1995 doesn't seem right. I mean, I finally gave up and surrendered to the craze, but that was in '98. I had no idea that it started in the mid '90's.

TRIVIA!  Check out the Game Boy Camera.  You'll see picture stamps of Pikachu and Mew in there.

Man, I remember those days too. I still had an old Gameboy (complete with taped battery cover - am I cool or what? ) to play Pokemon Red (my bro got Pokemon Blue not long after) but it was the very first game I bought on my own. I read about it in a Nintendo magazine and somehow had enough money to get it when I saw it.

I-CAN'T-BELIEVE-IT'S-NOT-A-POLL: Who else lined up to get Mew on their Pokemon games?

-NintendoFan- I got Red in late 96 (not long after it was released in Australia) and the games were out before the cartoon/cards/other paraphernalia hit the world. So 9 years is fairly accurate.

I probably won't buy this if I see it (the nostalgia of still having my Red version will stop me from ever selling it) but it would be a good game to encourage that person who never played the original games.

Going out to get Pokemon was one of the most memorable moments of gaming for me ever...And I plan on getting this game if not just for nostalgia's sake... ^_^
