The second Resident Evil Movie
« on: January 23, 2004, 05:25:57 PM »
Anybody hear about this?  What i found, they didnt have much to say, except it would be called "Apocalips"  <---- I know i spelt that wrong, but it means "The end of something" i believe, anyway:  It also said that it would start off where the last one began.  Anybody else know about this?  What are your thoughts?

I think it will be awesome to see the nemesis in the second movie in my opinion.   *Shutters*

I've read that Jill and Carlos from RE 3 will be in it.  Jill, however, will not be the main character, I think.  That's all I know about this.  I only hope it doesn't suck like the first one did, or at least be better than the first.

Yes, I heard about that.  They were actually shooting some footage for the movie just about ten minutes away from my house...so, if there's a part with a big bridge in the movie, then it's most likely from Toronto...as are most of the other things, because it was shot there.

Bleh.  I hated the Resident Evil movie...I doubt I'll see this one.

Yeah.  Toronto's a huge film location because of the cheaper costs, although good 'ol Governator Arnie wants to bring the stuff back to Hollywood.  Ironic, considering that only a couple of years ago, he said on-camera that Toronto was going to be the new greatest place to make movies.

I saw a trailer for it that was on the Once upon a time in Mexico or whatever it was called, the Bandares movie.  It looked like a commercial, my brother was getting pissed because there was a commercial on a DVD, but as soon as I heard Umbrella I told him to stop trying to fast forward through it because it was about Resident Evil.  I'm gonna have to get the DVD the trailer is on and watch it again because it was pretty awesome.  You think it is a regular commercial for beauty preducts if you didn't know better.

There's a lot out about this movie (I mean a LOT), you can find set pictures, plot... I'm trying to avoid any kind of spoilers (as I do with any movie), but you should be able to find out quite a bit about the film if you search some horror sites.  It's due out in the fall, the official website is here.; and here's a scene.  There's news that this could turn into a long franchise, there's scripts coming up for the third film titled (right now) "Resident Evil: Afterlife".  Nemesis is also in Apocalypse... there's a TON out on this movie if you look... there's script reviews everywhere (I don't know any off hand, as I said I avoid spoilers).

The first movie would of been good if it wasn't named 'Resident Evil'.
Dont get me wrong, I thought it was good... but didn't really fit into the format or plot that the games were in.

did anyone else think that the movie sucked. the special effects were horrible. actually if it werent for that and the fact that it had the name resident evil, i would have thought it was pretty alright.

Good question...Though there were a few discrepancies(such as Chris not being a S.T.A.R.S. member), it's a great script...I think I have it saved at home, so if anyone wants it over the weekend just feel free to ask me...

Yes he did, it was great, and they canned it.  The reason is simple; George Romero wrote a killer script that was actually horror.  Instead they were looking for a movie that appealed more to pop-culture.  I really hated the first movie; I don't know if the second one will be any better, but it's a zombie (HA) movie.  I'd much rather stick to the games, but I'll probably see it because I watch anything even closely related to horror.

My homepage is Bloody-Disgusting and there's way too much out about this movie.  There's something in the news at least every other day; they don't want to keep anything under wraps.  All of these "leaks" are just a different marketing scheme trying to build up hype for the movie (they even created a "scooper" website to release information).

Does anybody think it would have been better to keep the story true to the first game, i.e. keeping the location to the Spencer Mansion / Arklay Laboratory.

Also I was just wondering has anyone seen the Nemesis creature for the upcoming Resident Evil Movie, if not he looks pretty cool from the pics I looked at.
