Pacman Vs.
« on: November 28, 2003, 07:35:49 PM »
Am I the only one who's really looking forward to this?

Even though I've been ignoring copies of Pacman World 2 in discount bins for months now, I'm going to finally pick it up when the new double pack comes out.

One thing though: do you need to have 4 people to play, or can there be a computer controlled character too?

I am very much anticipating this game as well. (Yes, as far as I know the Ghosts can be CPU as well as Human)

It comes with iNinja and Ridge Racer too...

But Target has the Pacman World 2 / Pacman Vs. combo on sale for $17 next week, that's worth it for Vs. alone, IMO.

PacMan vs with comptuer controlled ghosts is just PacMan...

Also, you can play with 2, 3, or 4 players though I'm sure it's less fun with less people.

With fewer than 3 opponents, the CPU ghosts will wait at their starting points till they're 'recruited' by a human ghost. The CPU ghost will then earn points for the human player. It's a nice compromise.

I noticed it says this on the box.  Does anyone have any idea why?  How does this work?

Pac man is played on the GBA in Port 4. And when a ghost tags pacman the ghost become pacman and the last player. (Accomplished by trading controllers. The gamecube keep tracks of the switches and gives the correct player the correct points.)

Cherries(Fruit) are also a intricate part of winning, you can even get points from them as ghosts, and they enlargen the viewed area.

I'd planned on buying I-Ninja eventually, when the price dropped. But will they still bundle it with PacMan Vs then? Hmmm....

I bought I-Ninja today.  I am sitting here trying to warm up my hands, and I just opened the box.

There's no Pacman game in it.

Pac Man VS. comes sepratley in its own package if you get I-Ninja or that racer game. However I think you were supposed to pre-order it to get the disc.

The Players Choice version of Pac-Man World 2 is the only way it comes in the package (Since the Pac Man VS. graphic is on the box.

I got 2 copies of Pac-Man VS. at my house, the clerk at a Game Crazy let me have one, and I snuck out another copy.

I got my copy the first day it was available.  There is no way to preorder anything in this crappy town.  Believe me, I tried.
