Topic: Hotels and Gamecube

Hey i'll be going to canada, cause my parents want to blah blah.. and i wanna bring my gamecube along..

pift.. i'll be playing metal gear..

anyways.. do i need some special anything to plug in gamecube to the hotel televisions.. I know that it depends on the television but what do you think?  I remember one time, i couldn't play my 64 because it coulnd't connect to the tv.  So what do you think?

Well, often times the televisions at hotels don't even have A/V jacks to plug into.  If they do, they don't usually have a game or auxilery channel to veiw the game on, they will have a menu instead.  Of course, this is for all the main hotel chains that have things like movies and SNES or N64's available to play through their fanny pants hybrid controller/remote doowab.  If you're going to some small motel they most likely  will have just regular televsions so you can play your GC.

Bu for the most part, they want you to pay to use the services they provide.  Makes sense.

If you can afford it, buy a portable screen for your gamecube. Then all you need is an outlet.

I took my PSone on holiday to Ireland, and it worked just fine on the hotel TV.

Well how long are you staying there? And will you be at the hotel all day? If you've answered "not long" and "no" in that order, how about just NOT bringing it?

I brought my gamecube to a hotel once, and, like KnowsNothing said, i was able to plug it in to the TV but there was no way toget to the input screen. Those crazy hotels and there menu thingies..

I stayed at a hotel in Missasauga the last few days and they had an option to play PS2 games on the room TV. The part I found funny was that they only had PS1 controllers in the rooms.

Even if they do have A/V cables most hotel (Especally the bigger chains) will have lodge net or some form of it this makes it impossible to play on the TVs through "normal" means. You will need a RF adapter and hope they don't have locks on the cables. There are two places you can look to hook it up. One on the back of the TV (Though most lock this). The other one is to unplug the coaxil connection going into the box, most place will not have this locked then hook up the RF adapter there, then connect the other connection trough the RF adapter. Turn to channel 3 or 4 and enjoy.
