Progressive Scan/lack of inputs
« on: October 05, 2003, 08:07:44 AM »
Hey! I just bought a Panasonic Plasma Display so I wanted to connect my Gamecube to it and get progressive scan. The only problem is the display lacks inputs. It has only 3 inputs. One RGB/Scart, one component and one for PC. Now, I can“t use the Scart nor the component ones. The first one is being used for the VCR (wich brings us the TV signal also) and the latter one is being used for the DVD player. So i figured I have 3 options:

1- To get a component video switcher (don“t wanna do that, it must be expensive).
2- To get a gamecube component cable AND a component-VGA adapter and connect it on the PC input. If I did that, would I be able to get progressive scan?
3- To get the gamecube digital video cable, wich can be found at

I think the best way to go would be #3, but I“d like to know if that would work to get me progressive scan and allow me to play games that don“t support it. Also, if anyone has a better idea, please tell me!

Well, I think that“s it!
Thanks!

I hooked up the gc, a ps2, and an xbox all with component video connections to one input on my tv.

Go buy a simple a/v 3 way switch at best buy. Even though its got one for video, and left and right on the switch you can still use them all for video.  works great for me for 2 years now.

Cost: 8.99
