Topic: Onyx and Flame=Dust Free?

Okay so a while back Nintendo announced plans to change the manufacturing process of the SP so that the screen would be dust free. My question is considering how long ago this was announced shouldn't any new colors like Onyx and Flame have been manufactured under this dust free operation? I'm mainly asking this because of people always complaining about the dust problem and I would like to avoid this.

I've never had that problem myself. I don't know if the onyx and flame have been fixed for that matter but that would be nice. I just bought a Flame and so far the screen is dust free.

Well I picked up an Onyx this week and while I think there may be one or two very very tiny dust specks it doesn't bother me at all. While playing the games and with the light on I can't see them anyway. I think a lot of this complaining about dust is like people bitching about the lights making triangles and such when looking at the SP from different angels. Angles by the way that make it impossible to even see the screen anyway.

but what if i WANTED to play looking at the screen at such an acute angle i only see about 5% of the screen HUH? HUH!?

I picked up an Onyx GBA SP at Electronics Boutique the day they started selling them and that particular model had a relatively large speck of dust about 2 or three pixels across although not very large from top to bottom.  I took it back and asked the clerk if I could get it replaced.  She was curious because she'd never really seen that sort of defect in one of the GBA SP's.  So I showed her and, sure enough, she saw it too.  

Anyhow, my new one is just fine.  I think it may have a tiny little speck of something or other under the screen but I was really really worried about finding one when I was looking  and I haven't really given it any thought since.

So I guess that some models do have legitimate problems with dust and the Onyx and Flame models are not impervious to this defect either.  Not much you can do about it but hope you get a good one.
