New Mario Kart, Four Swords, & Baiten Kaitos Screens
« on: August 21, 2003, 11:49:47 AM »
I found a bunch of new screenshots today of Four Swords, Mario Kart, and Baiten Kaitos. I think they all look awesome, with the exception of Mario Kart...kinda dull.

Mario Kart looks good, in motion, at 60fps, which is a blessing compared to Mario Sunshine's 30fps and its greater lack of detail.

Now 4Swords is what really needed work.  It could've easily been executed with 3D models instead of a "last generation" sprite engine.

I like the sprites in Four Swords cause its like a new SNES Zelda, which is still my favorite of all the Zeldas.  As for Baiten Kaitos, this is the first time I've actually taken the time to look at screens, and I must say, it looks AMAZING.

i'm pretty sure the graphics were kept that way for four swords so that the action would look the same on the gba as it would on the tv.

i think cap is right- 4 swords on the gc is going to be one of nintendo's titles showing off connectivity with the gba
i love the look of baten kaitos right now- it really looks great and is being made by a team of excellent rpg developers
mario kart looks great and seems even faster now- i cant wait until this game releases by this years end
i call the big one bitey.

I've said this before, racing games(excluding DKR) aren't for me and Baten Kaitos will unlikely make it out of Japan, but I hope it does even with its ugly character designs in my opinion.  As for Four Swords, I'm a Zelda fanatic and the graphics and game concept seems so new and unique.  I most interested in the Four Swords of all the games.

Baten Kaitos uses prerendered backgrounds, if you like it that way, good. I think it looks lifeless and uninvolving (judging by the trailer).
