Although no platforms were officially named, Dragon Quest XI will be releasing outside of Japan next year.

In a video message celebrating the game's launch in Japan, the Western subtitle ("Echoes of an Elusive Age") was announced along with the news that the game will release in the West in 2018. The screenshots appear to be from the console version of the game.

I'm hoping for the Switch version, but I'm worried it's just going to be the PS4 version only.

Given the Switch's success, I could only see it being excluded if Sony was the one funding the localization.

I was thinking the same thing, but signs are pointing to Capcom regretting the deal due to the Switch's success, so it may be a temporary regression on their part. Gives me hope that the Switch train causes more developers to pass on these crappy money hats.
