Why'd they have to go and redesign the main character of Project BG&E to fit the stereotypical action heroine look?  And to make it all so much more worse, Jade is now decked out in guess what color?  Shame, Ubi Soft.  Shame.

This is a "game" not a friggin fashion contest. Who gives a crap. Does it affect the gameplay?

While it won't affect gameplay mechanics, I'm sure there's very little time that will be spent not looking at your character.  I don't know how many game (p)reviews or impressions you read, but character design is almost always mentioned and it certainly is an important factor of the overall package.  While IGN seems to like the change, I, for one, am not pleased.  In my book, the creativity rating of this game is getting a point deduction because the heroine now looks just like every other edgy action game heroine before her.  I find her new stylings to be in stark contrast to the rest of the whimsical world presented all prior screen shots.

I have to agree with dafunkk12. Instead of a unique hero to controll we now have clone of every woman action hero knowen to humanity. Not only in games but also in film and television. What Ubi Soft has done is make their character edgier and added more sex appeal. And, what sells? Sex sells. No, it wont effect game play. But it will make for a different game play experiance.  The simple fact that a character looks a cirtain way influences a players mind set on what to expect and how they play the game. Will the game still probably be everything we hope? Yea, it will. A few of us are just dissapointed in the direction the devs have chosen for the game. For someone to come in here and make a tiny poorly thought out post attacking the original poster is simply juvenile.

I also don't like Jade's makeover.  I thought the original design was hotter which is ironic since this change is obviously an attempt to give her more sex appeal.

Although the game might play the same as it ever was this change does lower my anticipation for the title.  If the game really was some innovative game unlike any seen before then the developer would never have changed the character because they would have wanted to stay true to their vision.  It's like how Miyamoto kept cel-shaded Zelda intact even when several fans were criticizing it.  Once you make a change purely in the interest of market trends your game becomes less art and more product.

Jade now fits in with her universe about as much as Fox McCloud fits in with Dinosaur Planet.

anyone have a link to some pictures of the old jade?  i haven't been following this game very closely and i'd like to see the differences.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I kinda thought the old design was cuter too... ah well. Maybe they'll have her old design as an unlockable "skin" in the final game...
