Monolith Software's JRPG will support pre-loading, too.

The official Japanese box art for Xenoblade Chronicles X has been revealed.

Additionally, a 32 GB Wii U console bundle that comes with a copy of the game, an art book, and map was announced during yesterday's "Direct" broadcast. It'll be priced at 35,000 yen and is currently only confirmed for release in Japan.

Nintendo and Monolith Software also confirmed that Wii U owners will be able to pre-purchase and pre-download the game ahead of release. It's a sizable download, though, weighing in at a whopping 22.7 GB.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is set to launch on April 29 in Japan. The release date for other territories has yet to be announced.

Meh. It's not a bad piece of artwork, but it's not what I would have used for cover art. Cover art is supposed to get the customer's attention and drop a little hint of what the game's about to entice the customer to buy the game. To me, that cover doesn't scream "epic roleplaying with a massive world and a memorable cast of characters." All the character have their back turned to the camera and are very small in the image. The "world" is also incredibly obscured. All this cover tells me is that there's a mech in the game. It's not an evocative image and it's not iconic. It's just a big, generic mech, like countless generic anime series.

I like it.  Especially as a Japanese game cover.  I pick up and consider a game like that.
Could you post a picture of a game cover for this style of game that better demonstrates the elements your saying?

Not to look generic. Besides, this is a modified version of a much better image that is much more interesting:

The box art kinda reminds me of those mech battle games that were all the rage on the PlayStation.
