B button stuck/pushed in on controller
« on: June 17, 2003, 06:31:06 AM »
Does anyone else have this problem?  It seems that my b button on my gamecube controller is pushed in more than normal.

When I press it, it doesnt feel right.  It just pushes in a little.

I had a similar problem. Someone in these forums mentioned that they twisted the controller one direction in each hand. Don't do it too hard or you could break it. Mine popped back out and works great.

Try searching through the archives.

pgc actually did a report on this problem when the gamecube first launched i believe
do just as fammy2000 said: you have to hold both handles of the controller
then with one hand pull the handle toward you and the other hand you push the handle away
do that a few times and the button should be unstuck
i call the big one bitey.

Forget the home remedies and call Nintendo.  I had the same problem.  Some of the early GC controllers just suck, Im sorry to say.  Sorry to hear about your problem, hope it gets fixed.

no need to get nintendo involved, it doesn't damage your controller, its not even a violent twist, it only moves a milimetre or two and its fixed, its awsome!

You know, Wavebird controllers' A and B buttons feel different from the other standard ones. On the WB, if you push it you can feel it. But on the standard ones it feels a bit mushy.

But they still work great. Oh well...

I twist my controllers probably once a week, just to keep them in good shape.  It takes two seconds to give it a gentle little twist, and your buttons feel like new.
