NO U

Localized version of 4G, which comes out this fall in Japan because Capcom has to make more mobile games.

Awfully long time, but I like the additions they are implementing. Pity on no Wii U. Maybe they will release another update and include Wii U with that one.

I wouldn't want a Wii U version unless there was split screen since I probably wouldn't play this much without my brother. Even then, I think 3DS is best for this type of game and I'd get that version because we'd each have our own copy and he likes these types of games. He has my old regular 3DS but no Wii U anyway. I really want to play Monster Hunter 4, but I'm not sure I play enough video games in general to be a good hunter. Still, I am glad this finally has a release date even if it's a year away.

I'm hoping that we get a special 3DS XL release package. I heard there was one like that released in Japan and it would be a nice way for me to get a Circle Pad Pro XL.

I'd prefer to have it on both 3DS and Wii with the ability to play online with cross system play. It's been done before with the Wii and DS (Crystal Chronicles).

As great as that would be, I can't see it happening since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate didn't have a similar Western bundle. I ordered my Circle Pad Pro XL from Nintendo of America's website. It's cheaper to get it via Amazon Prime since you don't have to pay for shipping. You can get one free month then it's $80 a year. If you just want to get the Circle Pad Pro XL for a few bucks cheaper (and receive it about a week sooner than ordering from Nintendo), you can sign up for Amazon Prime, place the order, then cancel Amazon Prime and you still have the rest of the month to use it. I'm still in my first month, but I've already saved like $30 on stuff I would have bought in stores so it has been great so far. Instant Video, while not even remotely as good as Netflix, is a nice perk.

I digress.

I wouldn't be against a Wii U version. While it would be tempting with cross-play (and the ability to import progress to the 3DS version), 3DS is just easier to carry around. I'm not surprised there's no Wii U version with the way it has been struggling. I'm not sure this game would help much especially since it's on 3DS

I'm familiar with Amazon Prime. I've gotten three free trials from Amazon over the years. This December my wife and I decided to keep it for good. Very happy with both the shipping and the Instant Video service as there are a few titles available on it that are not on Netflix, though Netflix is the superior product in terms of performance.

I'll keep tabs on the Circle Pad on there though. I'm not in a rush to get it as I don't own any games that utilize it, but I know of several I plan on buying in the future including MH4U. Since I am in no rush I am fine holding out to see what models make it to our shores or are tempting enough to import. I'd like to get a new 3DS XL and give my current one to my wife since she enjoys the system as well.

The US release is over a year away, so a Wii U version may be announced later. They may be waiting until after the 4G version comes out in Japan. I think the Wii U version of MH3U may have fared better in the US than Japan, since the US is more into consoles, so I wouldn't be surprised if they later announce one for the US market. It seems odd that they'd use the "Ultimate" subtitle and not have a Wii U version.

Wii U version or NO BUY!

Well, in this case, I can't really say "never." I already have the circle pad dongle thingie, so it would be less of a pain to play. I certainly have no interest in buying at launch or paying full price, but if it gets cheap then I might not be able to stop myself from getting it if a bunch of people are still playing at that point. But I won't be happy about it!

I'm actually not really a fan of the 3DS version. I'd much rather have a Wii U version to come out at the same time.

By 2015 we could have a unified system account between the 3DS and the Wii U (and its successor ;) ) that would allow cross-buying. Buy the potential Wii U version and get the 3DS version for free, or a greatly reduced amount of money. The Wii U version will be the definitive version anyway.
