EA's new college football sim has gone gold and will be in stores July 17.

EA'S NCAA FOOTBALL 2004 GOES GOLD - IN STORES JULY 17

Top-selling College Franchise Could Outsell Professional Football Games of All Competitors

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 2003--Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that NCAA Football 2004, the fastest growing football videogame, has gone gold and will be in stores July 17. Last year, NCAA Football 2003 was the number two selling football game behind EA SPORTS Madden NFL 2003, but ahead of the pro football games from every other publisher.

"NCAA Football 2004 kicks off this season with a lot of momentum," said EA Vice President Chip Lange. "Last year, college fans pushed this franchise well over the million-unit mark - hundreds of thousands of copies more than the pro game of our next closest competitor. This year, we hope to repeat that victory with unique college gameplay and the ability to square off against your rivals online."

Kicking off the 2004 sports videogame season NCAA Football 2004 relives the intensity, pageantry, and spirit of college football and celebrates the loyalty and tradition of college football's storied rivalries. Featuring new pre-game tunnel presentations, EA SPORTS Online competition (PlayStation 2 only) and EA SPORTS Talk in-game chat (USB headset and broadband connection required), as well as the joy of victory after an emotional victory over your biggest rival. NCAA Football 2004 will be available on the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and the Nintendo GameCube. For more info on the PlayStation 2 online (service, play, capabilities, features) of the NCAA Football 2004, go to www.easports.com.

Going gold and not in stores for a month? Isn't this a little longer than the average gold-to-store time? Usually we hear "going gold, in stores next week. "

I want the real college football to hurry up and get here.
My sig beat up your honor roll sig.
