Dream Team or Bowser's Inside Story
« on: September 03, 2013, 12:53:09 PM »

EDIT: TLDR: If I can only play one Mario & Luigi RPG adventure game, which one should it be?  ...Dream Team or Bowser's Inside Story or something else?

Hey NWR Community,

First of all, I have a Nintendo Gaming Confession (forgive the overused meme nature of this phrase)...  Despite being passionate about Nintendo, having loved Super Mario RPG as a kid, and having thoroughly enjoyed some Paper Mario titles, I have never played a handheld 'Mario & Luigi' RPG adventure title.  :-[

This is not due to a lack of interest but is instead a product of the decreasingly available but increasingly precious time I have for gaming.

However, at some point soon, I intend to get into the series.  Dream Team seemed like a great time to jump in.  It looked great and I truly truly love 3DS.  However, I have a close friend who has continually raved about the quality of Bowser's Inside Story.  Recently, I also heard Neal Ronaghan's thoughts on this very subject on Connectivity.  After hearing his thoughts on this and considering my friends love of Bowser's Inside Story, I'm now I'm wondering if I should actually go back and play Bowser's Inside Story instead of jumping in at Dream Team.  :confused;

Any thoughts?  What's the right game for me to jump in with?  It's important to note that with the few hours I have, I will realistically only get to play one of them (at least for a while).

Thanks!  ;D

Cheers,
EJtheK

I haven't played Dream Team so can't compare the games, but Inside Story is incredibly entertaining.  The game is easy and linear, but well-written and charming.  You certainly wouldn't regret starting there.

Thanks for the reply!  Perhaps that's the cheaper place to start anyway, and I've always been curious since so many people love the game.  I'm sure Dream Team is great, but Inside Story certainly seems like a sure thing.  Thanks for the reply.

Anyone else have thoughts that may have played both?
