Wii Fit U will be seeing a release this winter.

No specific date was announced, but Nintendo is taking the extra time to offer the best experience possible. Wii Fit U is the sequel to Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, it offers players a way to exercise using the Wii U and was originally shown at the  during E3 2011.

After listening to Johnny's idea of a mash=up between WiiFit and WiiSports, I really hope that all this retooling and delay will realize that idea because that would be an instant hit.  Honestly, as much as I enjoyed the WiiFit games, they could have not said anything about the delay and folks wouldn't have even noticed.
