This short, simple episode still contains tons of games.

Guillaume had less time to edit this week before we all head out for holiday travels, so the whole show is New Business! Here's a list of games that will blow your mind:

Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, Street Fighter X Mega Man, Bit.Trip presents Runner 2, The Last Story, Little Inferno, Rayman Legends, Dress to Play: Cute Witches!, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.

We'll be back in 2013 with your Listener Mail, a Live RetroActive all about Majora's Mask, our Top Games of 2012, and..... Jon Lindemann???

No Predictions?  I always love hearing you guys go over your predictions from last year. It would also be amazing to get Greg back to look at his 2012 predictions.

Amazing job this year I can not thank you guys enough!

We may do predictions upon returning in January. I'm never sure whether people actually like that sort of thing.

I enjoyed your predictions segments in previous years quite a bit. The real pay off of course comes when you review those predictions and assess how correct/incorrect you all were.

I agree about the predictions and review of them from the previous  year. As has already been said before, you guys have done a phenomenal job this year and the transition from Greg to Guilluame could not have been smoother.  Looking forward to this gift of an early episode.

I might have to take the plunge and try The Last Story now, although the only copies I can find around here in stores are the Limited Edition sets.

Listening to the podcast again, I have to object:

1. Grill-Off with Ultra-Hand! is PHENOMENAL. Well, it's not abject.

2. The chase levels in Rayman Origins are nothing at all like Sonic levels. What kind of Sonic games have you guys been playing? They are absolutely closer to some of the temple levels in DKCR, that is a fact!

I don't think Rayman Origins is hard if you just play through the levels to reach their end. But if you went about trying to collect all the lums in a stage and complete all 10 of the treasure chase stages to unlock the final (masochistic) level, then THAT'S when Rayman became hard. As it is, what made it hard was all optional and not needed to enjoy a good game. I did complete everything in the game (with exception of unlocking the final 2 characters) and I can say its a testament to how fun it was that I actually did that because typically I can care less anymore for 100 percenting a game unless it is truly compelling.

I didn't think Origins was overly difficult. It wasn't an easy game by any means, but for me it had just the right amount of challenge. The treasure chase levels were probably my favourite parts of that game. As Gui has said, those levels were very similar in construction to the temple levels in DKCR (which I also loved). Plus, it didn't hurt that the stage music for those treasure chase levels was fantastic; but then again the music throughout that game was pretty great.

Everytime I watch a video of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge it seems really easy. How is the difficulty of the game compared to that of the previous games? This is one Wii U game that I want but I do not want to have to throw my controller down and walk away every two secinds.

Its not any easier than the other ninja gaidens, well perhaps it is a little bit easier. Also Ive only been listening to the podcast for about 10 months but predictions do sound fun, Nintendo has to bring it at e3 unfortunately I dont think they will be able to build any hype due to the number of nintendo directs that will undoubtedly occur, an unfortunate side effect of being constantly updated but oh well. Merry Christmas to everyone ;)

Really pleased to hear praise of The Last Story- it's honestly one of my top games of 2012 for a lot of the reasons you guys mentioned in the podcast. Xenoblade is an incredible RPG because it conveys a sense of scope and epic happenings, but The Last Story tells a really low-key, small scale series of events that have gravity because the characters are so... well, average. Not average in the "look at me, I'm boring" sense, but that you really get to care about these normal people with huge flaws and personal growth throughout the story. Not to mention it's just a freaking fun RPG.

I compiled the list of predictions last night. I'll save them for the show...but let's just say we did poorly.
