The announcements begin at 8 p.m. Japan Time (7 a.m. Eastern, 4 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. GMT, noon BST, 9 p.m. AEST). This Nintendo Direct is Japan-oriented and will cover Wii and Nintendo 3DS. Wii U information will be revealed at events next month.

(6:59) - Hi Everyone, the show is just starting.

(7:00) - Iwata has taken the stage.

(7:01) - There appears to be some kind of Culdcept tournament and a special edition 3DS XL.

(7:04) - Iwata is holding a Kirby.

(7:05) - Showed off some Kirby merchandise.

(7:06) - The world has earned more than 57 billion coins in NSMB2.

(7:07) - There will be some NSMB2 videos available after the broadcast.

(7:09) - Iwata is talking about the Dragon Quest 3DS app which is available for free.

(7:10) - First up for third party September releases is Medalot 7.

(7:11) - Medalot is coming out in Japan on September 13.

(7:11) - Now moving onto Bravely Default: Flying Fairy.

(7:12) - Wow, there are over 20 job classes and 300 abilities to customize your character with.

(7:14) - The last demo for Bravely Default is coming soon.

(7:15) - Next up is Project X Zone.

(7:16) - Coming to Japan on October 11.

(7:16) - If you care about AKB48+Me I guess you should pay attention now. Still looks really strange to me.

(7:16) - Looks like the Inazuma collection. We knew about this already.

(7:19) - Coming November 15th to Japan.

(7:19) - A gameplay trailer is being shown off for EX Troopers.

(7:20) - Coming November 11.

(7:21) - Next up a Naruto game. Naruto SD Powerful Shippuuden to be exact.

(7:21) - It is coming sometime in 2012, it actually looked interesting to me.

(7:22) - a Level-5 presentation.

(7:22) - Looks like a new Professor Layton game. Subtitle is probably forthcoming.

(7:24) - I love Layton, so this just made my morning. By the way it is coming sometime in 2013.

(7:25) - He claimed it was going to be the final adventure for Layton.

(7:26) - Moving onto Nintendo games now, I believe they are starting with the art game we have seen before.

(7:27) - I'm assuming this guy is some Japanese personality. His outfit is strange.

(7:29) - Now there is a girls fashion game, and I believe the one girls purse had eyes.

(7:31) - There is a pink 3DS XL on its way to Japan.

(7:31) - Now time for some Animal Crossing.

(7:32) - Appears like you can design clothing and share it with friends using QR codes.

(7:33) - It looked like there was a house design made out of complete gold. It looked pretty cool.

(7:33) - Releasing November 8 in Japan.

(7:33) - Now for some Paper Mario, and a paper Iwata.

(7:34) - I guess they are calling the game Paper Mario Super Seal in Japan.

(7:35) - It is coming at some point in 2012.

(7:36) - They are running through a bunch of games coming out using a nifty calender.

(7:37) - eShop is next.

(7:37) - A sequel to Denpa Ningen no RPG.

(7:39) - It is coming out September 26.

(7:40) - A new game from Game Freaks called Rhythm Hunter Harmo Knight.

(7:41) - Looks like it constantly moves you forward and you just jump or attack, but there appears to be more different level design.

(7:42) - The game is coming September 5.

(7:42) - Iwata appears to be wrapping up the show. but I guess there is one more thing.

(7:43) - Looks like maybe Iwata doing a whole bunch of different things in a game.

(7:45) - I guess it is Friend Collection coming in 2013.

(7:46) - He showed something for Monster Hunter 4 right before closing.

(7:47) - Stick around for videos, but I guess the end of the official Nintendo Direct is upon us. Thanks for reading the live blog.

My mistake it was Tomodachi Collection that looked like Animal Crossing if it was built upon nightmares
