Layton could be on the verge of being officially announced for North America.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/30263

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask has been trademarked in the United States. The Nintendo 3DS title, which was a launch title for the 3DS in Japan and previously announced for Europe, has not been formally announced for the region.

However, last year, Professor Layton and the Last Specter was trademarked in the United States and then announced at E3 shortly thereafter. It can be expected that Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask will follow a similar trend, and be announced soon.

For more information about Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, feel free to check out my impressions with the Japanese version.

Seems interesting! This might be my first Layton game if I decide not to get the first one later this year! :)
Takes RPG's to heart and shooters to my farts. This makes no sense. XD

If you like one, you'll like them all.  To me, that is a testament to the quality of the games, not a critique of the series' lack of trying to fix what ain't broken.

Try them!

Great!  It's always nice to have another Layton game confirmed, though I'll admit that the Last Specter one is still in my backlog.

I'm really going to miss all of the 2D artwork, though.  The 3D character models will probably be cool, but it seems as if the game is sacrificing part of what makes the series special and unique.

I hate the Curious Village, But I love the Diabolical box, and I frikin' LOVE!!!!! The Unwound Future. But... I liked the Last specter. I hope this one doesn't end my little fanboy pyramid. I'm looking forward to the Phoenix Write crossover though!
