New Skylander Figurines Now Available
« on: April 11, 2012, 03:27:18 AM »

The last of the Skylanders are finally making their debut.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/29779

The last three Skylander characters have finally made their way to store shelves.

Warnado is a turtle-like air element character and can summon tornadoes and execute spin attacks to keep away his foes. Camo is a life element Skylander that uses firecracker vines and sun burst attacks. Lastly is Wham-Shell, a water element Skylander who used to be the ruler of a kingdom in the ocean. Wham-Shell has a mace that he uses to fight off baddies.

These last three Skylanders brought the total number of collectible characters to 32. All of the characters will be compatible with Skylanders Giants when it releases later this year.

Wow: 32 characters?  Here in Canada, they sell for $10 apiece. Sure you get the first three for "free" when buying the game... but this has to be one of Activision's greatest money making schemes yet.

So who is the first user here to collect them all?

I'm up to 26 after finding the Empire of Ice set at a Best Buy on the way to PAX East. I'm missing Wham-Shell, Sunburn, Zook, Camo, Lightning Rod, and Warnado.

Though I'm playing with house money a little bit since I reviewed it and got 3DS/Wii starter kits + 12 figures for the review.

My son is pretty bloody close to whole set right now. He is missing the Legendary 3 pack, Dark Spyro, Camo, Sunburn, Warnado and Wham-shell. FYI I  believe the total number is 37 including all legendary figures.

Does he have Legendary Trigger Happy?

Yes he does. My wife was inline an hour before the store opened to insure he got it. Does anyone know if the Legendary 3 pack is still in production?

I'm so close... just need Wham Shell.  Got 'em all and a few more (have the Blue Bash, the Toy Fair Cynder, have Whirlwind and Drill Sergant in the store-exclusive pack and the three-pack, then a broken-in-package Hex and Cynder.  Also have packaged versions of Stealth Elf and Ignitor.)... I'm a sick man.

pureval - It was on sale for $40 at a vendor at PAX East :( I saw it on the TRU by me a month ago and I regret not getting it.

Yeah I saw the vendor that had it for $40. I had to drag my son away from it. I hate when stores make their money like that. Actually collectibles are one thing, taking toys out of kids hands is another.

I should have picked up the Legendary 3 pack before christmas when it was easy.  I didn't because I didn't want dupes.  Though my wife does it seems.

Simple supply and demand. It's like how Cabbage Patch dolls in the early 80s were priced at $30 but some stores sold them for $100 in 1983 Christmas season (when everyone wanted one). It does suck though.

TRU is supposed to restock them in the next month. A few cases got out last month as well, but this re-stock is supposed to be on the level of Legendary Trigger Happy numbers.

After picking up Camo and Warnado on Easter, I'm only missing Wham Shell now. :3 Then it's just finishing off my boxed set, and extras for customizing till Giants comes out. Whee!

EDIT:  The Legendaries are re-stocking at TRU on April 18th to be precise.
