In others words: run for your lives! The Wii Virtual Console is getting an update!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/28970

Ubisoft's Prince of Persia outings for the Super Nintendo and Game Boy Color will make their way to Nintendo's respective download services this Thursday.

The classic SNES version of the franchise marks the end of a 32 week absence of Wii's Virtual Console service in Europe. The game features 20 levels, plus several training levels which will put your platforming skills to the test. The Game Boy Color one on the other hand features 12 levels, but it is cheaper and is of course tailor made for on the go.

European gamers will be able to download SNES game on the Wii Shop for 800 Nintendo Points and the Game Boy Color one on the Nintendo eShop for €5.00.

I have the ROM already on the PoP: Forgotten Sands disc, but this is good news nonetheless.

Forgotten Sands on Wii is kind of astounding, by the way. If you see it, pick it up! Easily the best POP since Sands of Time.

I don't know if the HD version of the game is any good, all I know is it's entirely different.

The HD Forgotten Sands really isn't very good.  It has one good trick in the ability to freeze water to create platforms and swinging points, and everything else is pretty mediocre.  It's one of the few cases where the Wii version is easily superior.

As for the SNES Virtual Console title, it's good to see the SNES getting more games on the service but I really couldn't care less about this one.  I didn't like the Prince of Persia series until Sands of Time.

This must be a sign the world is going to end in 2012.
