Well, I was thinking that it's not confirmed that these are going to be the US titles...

Personally, I think it could stand a couple of changes, but it's a pretty good line up.

Why? They have every genre and franchise pretty much covered except for pokemon.
Looks like a good lineup to me. I haven't played almost all of those games and they are all good titles, no throw aways.

I would swap Mario Advance 3 for Mario Advance 4.
I'd say Golden Sun instead of Fire Emblem.
Ideally, Zero Mission instead of Fusion, but with Metroid being one of the NES games, I understand it.
Wario Land 4 I could take or leave.  Not sure what I'd replace it with - Drill Dozer (though you'd lose the rumble, which was a bit of a feature of the game) or DK: King of Swing, maybe?

Oh, Advance Wars, Mario Golf/Mario Tennis (no sports titles in that list) and one of the Donkey Kong Country titles would have been nice.  DKC could replace Wario Land 4.  As much as I like Wario Ware, Mario Golf or Tennis would have been a better selection.  Mario vs. Donkey Kong is one of my favorite GBA titles, but Advance Wars probably would have given a better range of titles....

I agree on some of your points but strongly disagree on others.

Fire Emblem and Wario Land 4 are two of the titles I'm most excited about getting, so replacing those two would be out of the question for me. The weakest titles in my opinion are F-Zero (the weakest by far due to ridiculous rubber-banding AI) and Mario Kart (just because it's redundant now that Mario Kart 7 is released). Seeing Advance Wars or Mario Golf/Tennis included in the lineup instead would've been awesome, although I can understand how having Nintendo's top racing franchises represented makes sense.


Overall, I'm thrilled with the quality and selection of titles being given away! Minish Cap was a surprise - somehow I didn't believe they would just give that game away for free.

Though I'm the one also hoping the Yu-Gi-Oh Dungeon Dice Monsters get a eShop Release because that was a good game.

i know i won't play Mario Kart, so replacing that with Advance Wars sounds good to me.

I'd be cool with getting rid of Mario Kart Advance as well, as I never liked it a whole lot.  Actually I never enjoyed any of the 2D Mario Karts.




Would have enjoyed a Pokemon game, but that's a strange situation.  By giving out FireRed/LeafGreen you run the risk of losing some potential buyers if Pokemon Red/Blue is released on the VC (which, why wouldn't it?).  If they give away Ruby/Sapphire nintendo, in their warped view of the world could see it biting into the remakes which we know are coming.

SMB3 is available on VC, YI isn't. That is why I would disagree on that.

You're in luck then. Not only is it a great series, but Sacred Stones is probably the best one to cut your teeth on, since it's the only one that lets you grind fairly easily.

Anyhow, I think that's a great list. I'd trade Fusion for Zero Mission, ideally, but I won't complain. What most intrigues me is F-Zero. Maximum Velocity is just okay, but it's nice to see Nintendo acknowledge the series' existence again.
