Metroid II Heading to 3DS Virtual Console this Week
« on: November 21, 2011, 04:12:14 PM »

Well, in Europe at the very least!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/28495

Metroid II: Return of Samus will be making its way to the Virtual Console section of the Nintendo eShop this thursday. This was revealed through Nintendo of Europe's upcoming games list, which can be found on the right here.

The Game Boy entry in the classic Nintendo franchise sees Samus Aran on a mission to rip planet SR388 of the Metroid creatures. Abilities like the Spider Ball and Plasma Beam make their first appearances here and make for a very powerful arsenal to save the planet. Along the way you will uncover various artifacts and battle enemies which seem to progressingly grow in size.

Metroid II will set you back £3.60/€4.00. It is uncertain at this time if North America will recieve the game as well.

Yay! The only Metroid I haven't played. (I assume this bodes well for a North American release.)

Why doesn't Metroid ever take off his armor?

Could be a great Thanksgiving gift from Nintendo.

Also, plz give us GBA games, too.

I do like the game, and love the Metroid franchise but I'm sorry this game is DATED and does NOT hold up the test of time. It's incredibly easy to get lost, and is fairly difficult.

I much rather have a remake of this like Zero Mission was a remake of the first Metroid. Lots of home brewers are doing it, why Not Nintendo make an official one. This game remade on 3DS with several layers and advanced graphical engine would be FUCKEN EXCELLENT!!

Talking about GBA games, we've only got 5 weeks left in the year.  Where are out Ambassador games?  Didn't they say by the end of 2011?

Oh yeah, I know I have 2 sealed copies of that game.   1 is for trading.  But people who collect Amiibos?  They really have a problem!

I don't think it's a surprise that we haven't gotten them yet. Nintendo has until the end of the year until we should start revolting.

Given that Mario Kart Super Circuit is one of the GBA games, I'm guessing they'll come out either right before or after Mario Kart 7.
Metroid II is better than the NES game, but it's still no Super Metroid. I'm sure we'll get it soon as well.
