We are the dead... THE PROTOMEN LIVE!
« on: November 10, 2011, 09:53:25 PM »
Saw them last night in NYC, one of the best bands I've seen live yet. If anyone is a fan, you owe it to yourself to see them live. If you aren't a fan, have a listen and get ready to become one.

For your viewing pleasure, here's the majority of their set as recorded by yours truly:

Introduction

Breaking Out Pt. 1 & Pt. 2

Vengeance

Light Up the Night

Hope Rides Alone

The Father of Death

The Hounds

EPILOGUE: Due Vendetta

and a surprise for any Queen fans out there ;)

For those too lazy (or unable to watch) here are some stills of the action:

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.

Just discovered this band a few months ago and holy crap they are good. They arent a regular cover band their songs are basically a rock opera set in the Megaman universe. I know i was skeptical at first but it's actually really awesome.

all their songs are on youtube and you can follow the lyrics via this page

I wasn't skeptical at all when I first heard about them. My thought process went something like this:

Rock opera based on MegaMan? SIGN ME UP!

I've been trying to promote them here on the forums for some time but there doesn't seem to be many vocal fans out there, glad you're one of them though. Here's something I worked on last night that I thought I'd share with you guys:

edit 1: lol just noticed the http link ends with three perfect characters. Quote my post to see the code!

edit 2: here's a different picture, if you weren't able to make out the image above

I Fight Dragons

These guys were also at the show and I never heard of them. They were awesome, albeit in a different kind of way than The Protomen.

Watch them as they perform the soundtrack to Contra while a friend plays the game in the background

[url=url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsDdF1sI2Rc] Here they are performing a medley of Super Mario Bros. tunes.

and of course, pics:

Yes, they use nontraditional instruments as well including but not limited to SNES and Rock Band controllers (modded of course)

This last one makes me laugh..

I fight dragons also has a hilarious rick astley/mario bros mashup (when that fad was still new)
