In summary the Wind Waker is one of the greatest games ever conceived fullstop. Its amazingly entertaining and I never even flinched when WW was first revealed to be cel-shaded rather than that more mature/realistic Zelda vs Ganon demo shown at Spaceworld a few years back.
This thread is related to the increadible depth of the WW game-engine and/or Miyamoto's genius.
However its not posted in the usual WW thread because the question I pose is:
If someone asked you (heaven forbid) what Non-japanese movie or game franchise would you like to see Nintendo take the helm of and create a game out of?
I would without hesitation say an authentic The Simpsons realm using the WW game engine.
(Its truely disapointing to see that this game engine could be exploited for so many different franchises out there that have never been truely re-created but the engine is only being used for only one more Zelda title for the gamecube during this era).
I also understand that Nintendo wouldnt touch an American liscence with a long stick but imagine what a greater place our world/realm would be if they actually did?
Scenarios:
Take the same WW items interface. Substitute Link's following items for Bart's:
Sword > Rolled-up Radioactive Man magazine
Boomarang > Slingshot
Bombs > Standard fire crackers that Bart would normally use eg. in the war episode where Bart takes on Nelson.
Boat > Skateboard as The Simpsons is based on land (also skateboard can be used to a do spin attack move and possibly if it isnt too lame a sheild block move)
Maps of Springfield including special Maps of the sewers or The Powerplant or Krusties Show Set etc.
Plot? Springfield believes that Sideshow Bob is up to no good but.... (spoiler) the Four-Eyed Geeky Professor character has actually cloned Itchies which are running rampart in Springfield and its up to Bart, Lisa or Homer (option of chosing either character) (Lisa has Saxaphone or magnifying glass as items etc) (Homer eats Donuts or drops into's Mo's for energy source) to unravell the mysteries behind the plague. (Spoiler ....although Bart can find s secret entry into Mo's) just as Link can find secret entry into Bomb Shop in WW.
Think of Krusties Super Fun House 16bit puzzle side-scroller, however make all of Springfield as the authentic 3D setting, using the WW game-engine.
Bart can even skate into the Kwik-E-Mart for his favorite energy source Sludge.
Bart's Treehouse can be used as an inventory storage point.
Possible ideas could be a 4 player co-op where characters such as Nelson and Milhouse can be played.
Also there would be an arcade where you could play mock versions of every single video game or pinball that has been featured in all of The Simpsons episodes.
Flipper Frenzy, Devil's Advocate are just 2 of the pinballs Homer has played on the show LOL.
Who would not play another game using the WW game-engine? Naturally this game would be exclusive for GCN only due to the engine used and the game would have GBA hookup for playing some sort of hide and seek (2 player) idea.
Or
Is there a particular franchise you would like to see Nintendo (once and for all) do justice to, instead of dodgy third parties?

2003 = Nintendo's best ever E3 showing.
