New Rewards Available for Club Nintendo
« on: July 25, 2011, 09:41:00 PM »

Three new items can be purchased with Club Nintendo coins.

Three new rewards have been added to the selection available on Club Nintendo. These include a set of posters featuring images from the Donkey Kong series, a giant AR card for use with the 3DS, and a Metroid: Other M screensaver.

The Donkey Kong poster set features three posters: one showing the different iterations of the character over the years, one of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, and one showing the first level of the original Donkey Kong arcade game. This set costs 400 coins.

The giant AR card is of the same design as one of the AR cards included with the 3DS, but is big enough to produce a life-size image of a Mii when used in connection with the system. This reward costs 200 coins.

Finally, the Metroid: Other M screensaver features the game's logo as well as character art of Samus and her Galactic Federation allies. It is available for Mac or PC, and costs 10 coins.

I would get these posters, but I have the Mario and Zelda ones in a poster tube taking up space. I might use one of the Zelda ones, but eh

The Other M screen saver looks tempting, but I would have prefered that there been several good images of Ridley and other bossess. Nintendo should have made this for the whole Metroid series.

The giant AR card is definitely one of the most interesting rewards they have ever offered. It's also one of the few rewards you can "play" on a Nintendo system. More like this, please!

I wonder if it works better than the regular AR Cards. I could never get those to work, even with good lighting conditions and a flat even surface.

Not a fan of having to pay for screensavers. I may get the DK posters, but my Mario posters have just been sitting in their cylinder for about 6 weeks.

Wow Nintendo actually made the Donkey Kong posters a standard size. I have had the Zelda history one in the tube for over a year now because I can not find a frame for the thing anywhere and did not order the Mario one for the same reason. Nice of them to finally fix that problem.

I doubt they will let you. They refuse to enlarge or do anything with copyrighted stuff. I had a problem with a graduation photo. I paid $27 for my college graduation photo and they refused to give me a digital copy without paying another $10, so I took it to Kinkos to scan it and print out a bigger one and they refused because the photo doesn't belong to me, but the company who took it. I scanned it on my brothers scanner and learned a lesson about kinkos. The cards have Nintendo logo on them so my safe bet would be they wouldn't let you scan it, even if they did I wonder if they could do the correct dimensions.

Anyway I am totally happy to use my coins on this. The flip side is MARIO !!!!!!!!! Which is a very nice touch on Nintendo's part . My Mac doesn't like the screen savers, they do have a version for it but I think the graphics card or something doesn't like it. I don't know. I have zelda and mario posters and I don't need DK

Maybe you have a defective camera? I've had them work fine in dim light while being held.

It's also something you could make yourself. You don't even need to scan the actual card, you could simply draw it on with marker or paint. That said, it's a step in the right direction.
