sweaty hands?
« on: May 02, 2003, 06:20:25 AM »
I think it's pretty normal for your hands to get a little sweaty when your playing on the SP, (otherwise i'm a freak and shall consult my doctor!) but is anyone else conserned about damaging it through moisture(sweat) getting into the SP? Maybe it's just because i've just purchased mine and are a little too protective of it. I'm sure nintendo planned for sweaty hands but i'd like to hear what people think?

You must have small hands.  I'd consider my hands to be "average-sized", and pretty much only my fingertips touch the SP, really.  Either way, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about it.  You should be just fine.

I would consider myself to have average size hands too but I think you're right about holding it with just your fingers touching - i've just tried it out. I think i was smothering it with my hands! thanks for the help.

Well, if you drip the sweat into where the cartridge goes, that could do some damage.  And if you wipe your sweat into the speaker, it might not make it happy.  And if you always stick your thumb on the screen, it'll probably get smudgy and grimy.

But otherwise it'll be fine.

I've seen other games/electronics with the same coating, though- the sweat/moisture/rubbing eventually made the paint in corners and edges rub off....

If you're hands get sweaty, pause the game, wipe your hands off, drink a glass of water, and calm down man! It happens to everyone at some point in some video game, but just stay calm and in control and you shouldn't get sweaty in the first place.

i think that hes asking if it will do harm to the gbsp. not what to do about his hands being sweaty.
