Nintendo's new handheld starts out strong in Australia.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/26054

In just four days on the market the Nintendo 3DS has broken sales records in Australia. In that time frame, the handheld was sold more than 31,000 times, breaking the record previously set by the Wii.

For comparison, the Wii sold 32,000 units in its first full week back in 2006 and has now gone on to sell over 2.1 million units in Australia.

Wow.  We now know the 3DS core market must be down under.

Well, its not like the bar was very high or anything. Nothing seems to ever sell well in Australia, so it doesn't take much to break the record I'm guessing.
