The Nintendo 64 classic returns with updated graphics and an extra dimension.

Star Fox 64 is considered by fans to be a classic for the Nintendo 64, mainly thanks to engaging gameplay, unforgettable cutscenes and the innovation of rumble on a console. Years later, the title is being brought back to present us another innovation: 3D on a handheld. Star Fox 64 3D is a remake of the N64 title, featuring better graphics and 3D functionality. Gameplay remains the same, featuring the same levels as in the N64 title. In terms of controls, you use the 3DS's slide pad to move the Arwing around and you use your weapons with the press of a button. Doing a barrel roll requires pressing the L and R buttons. The 3DS touch screen features a layout of the buttons, but it was hinted at Nintendo's Developer Roundtable that it would have communication features. Also at the roundtable, it was teased that there might be some changes to the game for the remake.

Star Fox 64 3D has no release date in any region.

The 3ds Nintendo showed off at E3 didn't rumble while playing Star Fox :(

One other issue is that the flight controls weren't inverted- something that is easily fixed.

The version of the demo on display was pretty early. It didn't have any of the signature dialogue in place. I didn't hear any dialogue (or much of anything, actually). The audio on most of the demos was too low to hear, probably because they were on prototype 3DS units. I seem to recall the audio being super-low on the original Nintendo DS demo units at E3 2004 (?), too.

I for one was glad to not hear Slippy in that sequence. I thought most of the audio was fine when you put the headphones on, did they not all have the Bose 'phones hooked up?
