Donkey Kong Country Returns E3 Trailer
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:57:05 AM »
Retro's re-imagining of Donkey Kong's classic adventures looks fun and very pretty.

Rumored a few days before E3 Nintendo unveiled Donkey Kong Country Returns, developed by Metroid Prime creators Retro Studios. The first Donkey Kong adventure game since 2005's Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Donkey Kong Country Returns retains the classic 2D gameplay of the classic Super Nintendo titles. Diddy Kong accompanies DK once more as they battle baddies and travel together.

I'm thrilled.  In the rumour thread I expressed my desire to see the game be 2D.  It's clearly a lot of fun.  The foreground visuals aren't the best, but they've nailed the scrolling backgrounds signature to the snes games.  The music rocks.

I'm curious of one thing mostly, are the klassic baddies going to be represented, or does Nintendo not own the rights to them?  I don't think I saw a single one.
