Retro City Rampage looks wacky and brilliant

Yeah. What the title says.
Take a look at this 10 minute trailer and you'll see what I mean.

What we have here is an 8-bit Grand Theft Auto-inspired WiiWare game with elements parodying various games from the NES era, including the underwater levels from Super Mario Bros and the items in Legend of Zelda, and a great sense humour. For example, there's some hilariously bad translation in the dialogue, which is subtitled to show what the character really meant. You'll also notice in the trailer, as it is promoted heavily, a gnarly soundtrack done by three renowned chiptune artists.

Do I want it? Yes. Do you want it? I think you do.

You are right Killer_Man_Jaro, I DO want it!

Along with La-Mulana and Super Meat Boy, I have been waiting patiently for this game to appear on the Wii Shop Channel. Just as Cave Story and Shantae Risky's Revenge went, so go these games. It seems the WiiWare game I play the most is "The Waiting Game".

I know what you mean. It feels like some of these WiiWare games have been in development for so long, though I respect that it's more difficult for the small teams that occupy the download space.

The fact that they have now shown a lot of Retro City Rampage suggests that it must be nearing completion. By the way, favourite moment of the trailer: when the main character eats some magic mushrooms and everything on screen goes crazy, much like Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy in Yoshi's Island.
