I have a similar problem with Heroes on NBC.

I do that with 24.  That show is so fucking dumb and so predictable.  Yet I've realized I've always watched it with my family and it provides a weekly family time.  So all of us keep watching even though we think the show is stupid and crappy.  My brothers and I actually treat it like MST3K and then it becomes much more enjoyable.

I can't quit it. I stopped recording it and I don't catch it when it airs, but somehow I still manage to watch it. damn Hulu.

If Kristen Bell couldn't keep me watching Heroes, your show must seriously suck.

Alias had similar problems to all these shows, but hell, I managed to watch most of the episodes and enjoy them. One thing Alias had over the other shows was that it was coherent within it's own universe. Lost is incoherent in any universe, 24 breaks it's own gimmick when the show doesn't run in real time anymore. Heroes has people with super powers not use them and act unheroic/emo.

I also have interest in NitroBike for that reason, and will probably end up buying it as well.

As for what I have bought, I'm sure some of my Nintendo 64 games would qualify for this, though I don't know if it really counts since I bought them for collection purposes. There are some games I own for Wii and GameCube that have received some low review scores, though I actually find myself disagreeing with them, which I guess means that a "garbage game" is often a matter of opinion.

Anyway.  Back to the topic.  I'm now getting the compulsion to pick up Lemmings for the PS3.  It has a meta score of 59, but it has trophies, its only 6 bucks, and they're just so cute.  I'll probably pick it up over the weekend.

Two seconds of research suggests that Lemmings on the PS3 is more or less a quick port of the PSP version and is missing features like create-a-level.  That's probably why it got low scores.  I imagine if you just want a quick fix of Lemmings gameplay it's sufficient.  It would take some kind of anti-talent to screw up a port of Lemmings.

Though I did always find the console versions kinda crappy because they didn't have mouse support.  Clearly the game was designed for that.  Oh wait, Wii remote pointer?  Hello?  Obvious target platform here!

Except Sony actually owns Lemmings.  That truly does suck since both of Nintendo's current platforms would be great for it.

Even MS let one of their studios pump out a few DS games.


But it would be hilarious if Sony put Lemming on Wii/DS and it was a million seller, cause then they could use those profits to fund more HD projects..... why does that sound so familiar?
