Ubisoft has announced a new game for Wii called Racquet Sports. The title will include tennis, ping pong, badminton, squash and beach tennis.

The game will be compatible with MotionPlus for more accurate swing movement, as well as Ubisoft's motion-tracking camera (bundled with the recently released Your Shape). Players will be able to participate in party and championship modes.

Racquet Sports is set to be released in North America in March 2010.

UBISOFT® LAUNCHES RACQUET SPORTS   The First Multisport Racquet Game for Nintendo Wii(TM)

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – December 10, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced a new addition to its sports portfolio with Racquet Sports, a multisport game that includes tennis, ping pong, badminton, squash and beach tennis. Developed for Nintendo Wii(TM), the game delivers an engaging and interactive experience for the entire family. Compatible with Wii MotionPlus(TM) and Ubisoft's Motion Tracking Camera for Nintendo Wii(TM), players will receive a highly realistic and personalized gameplay experience. Players will experience easy-to-use controls that precisely simulate their movements and be able to play in multiple gameplay modes, from party to championship mode. Racquet Sports is scheduled to be released in North America in March 2010.

Racquet Sports engages players in 40 rich graphical environments in worldwide locations including an underwater reef, a Moroccan palace, a New York loft, and a fan-filled stadium. The multiplayer feature in Racquet Sports allows the entire family to play cooperatively with each other or to compete against each other at the same time. In addition, users will have the ability to customize their character's body and clothing with different looks and accessories.

"Ubisoft and Nintendo continue to reach new gamers with innovative casual experiences that push the industry forward,” said Adam Novickas, U.S. director of brand marketing at Ubisoft. "As racquet sports are some of the most popular sporting activities throughout the world, we are excited to bring a realistic interactive game experience for the entire family.”

Racquet Sports offers unprecedented realism and pinpoint gameplay mechanics bringing every serve, swing and backhand to life while replicating the experience in the comfort of the living room.

can someone explain to me what "Beach Tennis" is?

and who is reviewing Your Shape?
I planned it as a Giftmas present, but I've only seen one review.
That review said that it was better than EA Active & WiiFit+
said you couldn't cheat the system like with the other 2 games, and was a good pairing to go with Golds Gym and a Great Sequel to the Xbox original(that was ported to Wii) which was (i forgot the title) starring your trainer that goes by the name Maya.

I think the problem is that it's hard to get review copies from Ubisoft, so it may have to wait until somebody buys the copy themselves.

hmmm... maybe I'll buy it anyway.

But have you guys seen the cover for this game?
complete rip off of WiiSports. I wonder how many people will buy it for that fact alone.

It's exactly what it sounds like: tennis played on a beach instead of a court.

Wouldn't be the first time, as Deca Sports also resembled Wii Sports.

I had never heard of beach tennis until I read this article yesterday. I looked up the website of the organization that runs the sport in the US, I have no interest in the actual sport.

Great... because the Wii library was severely lacking in games of this sort. ::)
