Oh man, I'm a first time listener of this podcast, but you just scored lots of points with me by playing Demon's Crest music. One of my favorite games for the SNES, better than Megaman X from the same creator, IMO.

Still not done listening to the podcast, though. You guys better not talk crap about the game in it, or I'll be back.

With a shotgun.

edit - Alright. You won't feel my wrath. But allow me to enter Nerd Mode for a second:

- The first GQ game was on the Game Boy, but the sequel was actually a NES game and came out late in that console's life.
- In Demon's Crest, your gliding isn't limited (though it was in the previous games). The Air Gargoyle's ability is actually being able to fly up. Press A, and you soar higher.
- In their video about it, ScrewAttack also mentioned the brutal difficulty and, well, I just don't see it. It is no harder than a Megaman X game. But just like in those games, I guess if you try to tackle a level with the wrong weapon, you'll have a much more difficult time with it.

As for it flopping on the market, I've got my theory. I don't know if it true, but I've heard this game got negative sales one week. Which would mean more people returned it than bought it. Not sure if I believe that, but if true, it's probably because this game has 5 different endings or so, and only 4 stages available at the beginning of the game. If you don't find the alternate paths in those levels, you'll make your way to the worst ending very quickly, a couple hours at most, and it really wasn't clear in the manual or the game itself that there were multiple endings, multiple paths in each level, and more levels to be unlocked than the initial ones.

So you could easily think you were just had by paying $60 on a 3 hour game.

5. I suggested this game about a year ago, so I'm glad it finally made it. If it sounds like a Pokemon game, that's because Game Freak developed it for Nintendo in 1992 (the Game Boy version sounds even more like a Pokemon game, for obvious reasons). Actually, when I first started playing Pokemon, I remarked how similar they sounded. You managed to pick sufficiently obscure songs given how few there are in the game. This game, by the way, is on NES VC for 500 points.

I've been putzing around for a copy of Demon's Crest for a loooong-ass time. I loved the GB game, and I never played the SNES one. And Pandareus is right--according to an old issue of Nintendo Power, the game DID generate negative sales one week.

This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

Spoiler tags, people.  Use 'em!

This was a good episode.  At least I think it was.  Maybe.  I listened to episode 32 right after this one and now I can't remember which music belonged to which episode.  Both guest-starred the lovable Jonny Metts, so they blend together.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
