Ghostbusters (PS3 & 360)
« on: July 02, 2009, 06:44:28 PM »
Anyone try this yet?  I rented it yesterday and I'm really enjoying it.  Best movie/game I've played in a long time.  Anyone else knock the difficulty down to casual?  The game mechanics are a bit choppy in terms of dodging projectiles and in order to avoid getting pissed off, I knocked it down so I could just enjoy the ride.

Yep fantastic game, while it has some polish issues you can tell it was a labor of love. The Stay Puft marshmellow man stage was pretty fantastic IMO.

It's fun playing once, but it has practically no replay value.  I'm also very not fond of how the game goes from "awesome Ghostbusting!" to "generic third-person shooting action using a Proton Pack!" after the first couple stages.  It rebounds nicely at the end, but it still made the middle of the game very unmemorable.

Yeah, thats what I assumed, so I rented it.  One hell of a ride so far though, and man, Stay Puft level was epic (aside from some clumsy controls).

I would recommend playing on easy as medium will bring some frustrating cheap deaths.  If you're looking for a quick playthrough to appreciate the story, easy is the way to go.

Yeah, you end up dying way to easily since you really can't block and you squad isn't much help.

It's not bad but the capture system needs alot of work.  I ended up just the upgrade for slam captures and found out that worked best for me.

It had some great one-liners though and I still can't figure out why no proper sequel was ever made?  That and Goonies, classics that ended long before they should've while crap like Saw keep dishing out one after another.

I heard the other day there is a new Goonies in the works, they're still working on the cast.  Hopefully they do it justice, but thats almost an impossible task.
