The Japanese magazine sheds some light about the new mysterious Square Enix title. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=18970 The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump revealed a new title from Square Enix entitled Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden.
The game is a role-playing game where players control a 14-year-old boy on a quest to save a princess. The story starts on the boy's birthday when he is summoned by the King to save his daughter from a witch.
The game is a standard menu-driven turn-based RPG, with a party of four characters that you encounter during your journey. The game lacks a magic gauge; instead, there is a charge command.
In the character status screen, characters have AP points, which are represented by yellow dots. Since most actions in the menu have a yellow dot next to it, it looks like that you need to spend AP whenever you perform an action, or you can spend a turn charging AP if you lack the required AP in order to perform a specific action.
Also, your character's physical appearance will be altered whenever you gain new equipment.
The teaser site for the game, which was slowly revealing details, shows two of the characters riding a dragon. The character designs are created by Akihiko Yoshida, who worked on Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII.
Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden will be released in Japan this fall.
