Heh...I hope you mean PlanetN2000.  Some of the staff were involved in N64 HQ, but PGC itself only goes back four years even with name changes.  Anyways, I started reading the site back when Justin closed down and merged OPN2000.  I was invited to come on staff back in January 2002.

I visited the site off and on ever since PlanetN2000. I remember when they started covering GB/A stuff (I remember when that was Atlantis ). I also remember on PN2K's first anniversary, I think it was, when Billy said they would be closing down- I really loved the site and didn't want it to go. Imagine my and many others' surprise when the enxt day they became Planet Gamecube! I signed up for their forums over a year ago (aroudn when IGN locked theirs) and have been coming here all the time since then.

I started checking out PGC (then PN2000) in late 2000.  My brother had recently bought a used N64 and after being out of the videogame loop for about four years I was frantically trying to play catchup and ended up reading about Spaceworld 2000 on IGN and thus the Gamecube.  I immediatly became interested in the Cube and spent a good deal of time searching the net for Cube related info.  Naturally I found Planet N2000.  Later they became Planet Gamecube and I joined their then new forum.  It was actually the first forum I ever posted on and I recall being really nervous with my first few posts.  I imagine if you looked at my posts then and compared them to now you could never tell they were written by the same person.

One thing that's very interesting is why I initially became interested in PGC over other Cube sites.  Sure PGC has great writing and professionalism but originally the reason I became a fan was because most of the other Cube sites I visited died out or started having huge lags between updates.  Or they went Insider.

I started coming here after IGN locked their doors to the public.  I discovered that PGC updated the news much more frequently, and with a great deal more professionalism.  I signed up for the forums a short while ago when I was sick and tired of the forums I visited before this.  I like the atmosphere here much better.  A lot less hate, and less trivial crap on a day to day basis.  (well... except for the sort of disturbing cold war between regular users and the staff...)  Overall though, the people here are great, and you can say what's on your mind.

Although I must admit that lately I have been finding that other sites are updating their news quicker than PGC, PGC usually gets it right the first time, and don't have to print 3 stories on the same news.

I don't know when I started coming here, I accidentally came across the site and decided I liked it so I haven't left.  I started with the forums last summer.

I remember that to.  I was all mad, and I came to it the next day and it was planetgamecube. I was so happy.

I know I was visiting  a while before they knew what the name was going to be for Nintendo's next system and this is where I found out what it was going to be.  Probaly late 2000 or early 2001.  I'm sure I visited a few times when it first opened but I don't remeber.
it was time for a change.

2 years now. I didn't even read PGC before someone helped me get on the staff. I've been writing for the site for 2 years, and I'm still considered one of the rookies, I think.

I started reading the site near the end of the PN2K days, back when IGN actually was actually good >.>

I was on the forums quite a bit over a year ago, just me, SPE, and BigN... (lol, those were the days)

anyway, I recently re-registered and started posting again, barely see any familiar faces outside of staff, (Hey  Iansane) but, no matter, my craze with diablo II is done (1.5 years, and 2 guides later) so, I'm going back to my roots of nintendo discussion...
