EA Sports Active Blog: Day 10 (Final)

Gotta be quick here as my flight to E3 is just a couple of hours away. I accidentally took a rest day yesterday – I was just too busy with E3 prep to do an Active workout, but I did get in an hour on my bicycle while running errands around town.

I wasn't planning to do a workout today, but decided to squeeze one in after missing yesterday. Squats and basketball drills were prominent today, with the new exercise being Squat Holds – every bit as evil as they sound. Passing and shooting in basketball are a nice, easygoing activity for the arms.

The running really pissed me off today, as the game constantly flipped back and forth between saying I was too slow and at the perfect pace, even though my real movements were consistent. I haven't had this problem before, so I'm not sure what could be causing it. Anyway, I burned off 145 calories in my final entry for the 10-day workout, andÂ…

Cumulative Weight Loss: 2.8 lbs

Not as much as I hoped to lose, but it's holding steady, which is a good sign. And losing three pounds in ten days is on the borderline of healthy and excessive weight loss (typical guideline is two pounds per week), so it's probably for the best that I didn't lose more.

Now I'm off to E3, definitely in better shape than when I started this program!

Cheers for the blog, nice one. I might invest in it to shift the beer gut, or might wait and see what Wii fit Plus is all about.

Nice blog series, but I have to wonder if your original weigh-in was accurate.  The drop from day 1 to day 2 was by far the largest weight change.  Your day two weight loss (2.4 lbs) is really quite close to your day 10 weight loss (2.8 lbs).  If you exclude your initial weight loss, it doesn't seem like you loss much (if any) weight at all.  Since you've mentioned that you weight yourself daily via the Wii Fit Channel, might I inquire about your weight measurements for the few days before you began using EA Sports Active?  Was you day 1 weight an outlier?

Then again, it's all a moot point.  As you mentioned in one of the other blog posts, any muscle gain likely offset the fat loss.  I suppose the ultimate question is do you feel more fit than you did a week and a half ago?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
