 Capcom's recent Captivate 2009 event confirmed that Ace Attorney Investigations, the first spin-off title from Capcom's Phoenix Wright series starring Phoenix's rival Miles Edgeworth, will be released in Japan on May 28 and in North America and Europe in winter 2009. It was first revealed last year.

The title promises to have gameplay different from the earlier titles in the franchise as it focuses more on exploration and scene investigation. Each investigation will be divided into two segments: Investigation and Confrontation Phase. The Investigation is similar to previous games in the series while the latter  engages players in scenes similar to the Cross-Examination scenes in the main series. Surprisingly, there are no courtroom scenes in this game, as Edgeworth, along with Detective Dick Gumshoe and thief Kay Faraday, must instead confront suspects and get them to confess. Players must help Edgeworth figure out the case by using the game's logic system.

UPDATE: Here's the first English trailer:

So awesome. But the wait. So long. WHY SO LONG?

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.
