It took all the self control I could muster....
« on: August 06, 2008, 05:18:54 PM »
....not to buy THIS

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/XBOX_360/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A1295214

Great words from my friends like...

"yeah, and they'll come out for ps3"
"little big planet is coming out soon"
"you'll never have enough money to get married"
"it could probably ARRIVE broken"

...helped me achieve this moral victory!

What will come out for PS3?  Crappy games?  I don't get it! =(

Personally, if I were in your shoes, the fact that Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, and Fable II are coming out soon would be pushing me over the edge for sure!

Stop, this isn't how this is supposed to work!....

Uhmm, isn't Infinite Undiscovery still like 2 years away?  And, uhmm... I never played Fable 1!...

And uhmmm...  I'll just play the Symphonia sequel??

I can't take it!

I got the same bundle for 200 bucks last year.

Let's see...

"360, PS3, same thing"
"Buy it...if you want an endless sea of FPS games"
"The Wii will get better games, you'll see!"
"You'll be yet another angsty Ninty fan if you buy one"
"You'll TV can't handle hi defz gaming!"

That's all I could come up with.

Isn't this an old christmas bundle too?  Does that mean it's one of the older processors that's more likely to break?

Yeah, that's the ticket.

It if doesn't arrive broken it will probably break in a couple months anyway.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is actually a pretty good game if you're playing co-op.

Howabout don't buy it 'cause black 360s are ugly as hell?

"it could probably ARRIVE broken"

This is actually the best reason of any: for a purchase like this, if I can't drive to the place and return it, I get a bit leery. Unless we're talking about a mail order place I know to not shaft people.

If I had the money sitting around and was looking to get a 360 I would be very interested in it. I wish all my consoles were black. The large hard drive is great. HDMI is great. Two games that I wouldn't buy otherwise is meh. And two faceplates that might snap while I'm trying to switch out isn't something I'm into but its cool to have the option to.

Just do it. You know you'll feel better afterwards.

360 is too big for my coffee table.  My Wii is plenty noisy already.

Still not sure what's so great about all this traditionally-controlled HD stuff.  Been playing RE4 Wii on Professional mode lately.

Hmm, so apparently the price was a screw up.

Been playing RE4 Wii on Professional mode lately.

Me too.  What a great game.  Beat it on once Pro run to unlock the Laser Gun, and unlocked The HandCannon afterwards.  Now I've just been running black through destroying everyone and everything with one shots as sweet sweet revenge for all the crazy damage they dish out on Professional mode.

I bought that same bundle at my local ebgames way back in late October of 2007, except it didn't come with that blue faceplate, for $499.99.
It's a holiday bundle, so I'm sure you can wait towards the end of the year to see if they anounce another holiday bundle, or the same one but cheaper.

I enjoy playing from scratch more than any bonus.  Making shots count elevates my appreciation of the tangibility of the controls.

I don't know if I would even try professional mode on the GC version.  Aiming is very fast and efficient now with the Wii.  For some reason my friends who have come over to play have had difficulty with it, though.

Like I said though, I just love blasting through the game at lightning speeds with one-shot kills to make those sons-of-bitches pay for the hell they put me through during my "legitimate" Pro run.  It was very tense at times, having very little ammo and having to use a full health item every time a Not-Zombie grabbed me.

I absolutely spanked RE4: Wii on professional mode because of the ease of use of the aiming/knifing.

Didn't make the game one ounce less satisfying, however.
